I am skinny, maybe too skinny. One of my supervisors told me that I need to gain weight. It really pissed me off for some reason, and I really wanted to tell
her well maybe you should lose some... but i didn't. Do you think someone overweight would like hearing someone say maybe you should lose some weight??

I'm skinny, too, and people say shit like that to me all the time. It's okay to comment about someone's weight if they are skinny. It ALWAYS pisses
me off.

I get offended when people tell me to gain weight and I have told people that they just need to lose some in those instances.

Hmm...I don't like those comments when the person is assuming you don't eat enough.

Im sure that is what she thinks too, because everyone always does.
"Oh you need a cheeseburger and milkshake". No what I need is for you to leave me the fuck alone! |

I don't think any weight comments are necessary.

Someone else said I should tell someone in HR.
Its not that big of a deal, but it just caught me off guard. She is a big big big girl, I should have just let her have it. |

Some bitch once told me while I was AT THE GYM that I should lose weight. What the fuck did she think I was trying to do?!
People are just stupid. Really, really stupid and not self-aware, at all. |

A co-worker said something like that to me not too long ago. We were having a luncheon type thing in the office and he said to another co-worker (in front of
me), "Since Kim will be here, can you bring in a carrot, two string beans, and three pieces of lettuce for her?"
I know he was saying it in a joking manner and he was just trying to be funny, but I went the fuck OFF on him. |

I say let it slide this once.
Next time she says something, tell her you think she should lose weight. If she has a problem with that, tell her to take it management, where you'll be more than happy to say she started it. |

I've heard it, too. It gets irritating when I hear it from the same dumb people, over and over. They tell me I'm too skinny, eat more, blah, blah, in
front of people! I tell them I eat all the time. My close friends, and even their moms would say I eat a lot and I eat like a pig.
It's not easy for me to gain weight and I do wish I'm a little bit more heavier, but don't try to make it look like I don't eat b/c YOU are a flabby cow! I'm small, get over it! |

People think it's okay to make those kinds of comments because being thin is socially accepted while being heavy is not.

Apparently it's okay to say that to skinny people, but not fat people.
People sometimes ask me if I'm anorexic. I just tell them that I try to throw up after every meal. Shuts them up. |
