Jason Segel was not submitted for Emmy consideration at all. Can you believe that ish? All 4 of his costars were (Josh Radnor for Lead Actor, the others for
Supporting). What are the producers thinking? (Oh, I know they think NPH has a better chance of a nomination/win if Segel isn't taking votes away.)
It's really, really lame. I wonder how this will affect the relationships between the actors?

I know, right?! If I were Jason I would be royally pissed. From interviews I get the sense he feels his movie career is being restricted by doing the show (he
can only do one movie per year because of the schedule) so I can only imagine how he feels about the show's producers right now.
I want someone to track him down and get a reaction from him. It's just utter BS. (I am a huge Segel fan in case you couldn't tell, lol.) |

Was he submitted last year? Maybe he talked to the producers about it, who knows. Maybe he'll be submitted in lieu of one of the other male actors next
year.

I remember Katherine Heigl "removed" herself from being submitted because of her terrible storylines, maybe the actors have some say.

I'd have a hard time understanding why Segel wouldn't submit himself for consideration, but I'd rather this be the situation rather than the
producers deliberately leaving him out. That shit wouldn't be right.

Actors are to submit themselves for consideration, IIRC. A nobody from One Tree Hill submitted herself this year. I don't buy that the producers have any
say in who submits themselves.

That's really weird, especially considering how he is the most famous person in the cast (I guess him and NPH are a toss up). But, he's really the only
one with any box office clout. As someone else said, I'm sure he is a little frustrated that he can't do more than one movie a year because of the
series- he's a hot commodity but is pretty locked up by HIMYM. Unless he intentionally withdrew his name from the ballot (which I can't really imagine)
this seems off.

The producers don't have anything to do with it. There's no way they could have stopped Jason from submitting himself if he wanted to.

I'm pretty sure it's up to the actor and their people to submit themselves for Emmy consideration, not the producers.

^ They haven't been nominated. This is just for consideration to be nominated.
I think he probably didn't think he had any material to submit. I can't think of anything Marshall did that stood out. |

I say this having been a fan of Jason ever since Freaks and Greaks, and knowing how fantastically talented he is. Nobody on that show other than Neil Patrick
Harris needs to be submitting themselves for ANYTHING.
ETA- And yeah, if he wanted to be submitted, he could have done it himself. That's not something the networks decide. |
