that seems a little early...my cousin is due in Nov. and her shower isn't going to be until at least August/Sept.

Not normal at all. All the baby showers I've been to are when the mom is like 8 months along. The only time they've been sooner is if there's a
complicated pregnancy and the woman gets put on bed rest.

yeah she isnt due until late November/early December, I'm not sure who is throwing this one. None of our mutual friends are going, it just seems odd.

If she miscarried with the last pregnancy, why not wait a bit longer to have a shower?
When one of my aunts miscarried (after a baby shower), her husband refused to let us throw her another shower until AFTER she had the twins that were her next pregnancy because he didn't want her coming home emptyhanded to a fully-stocked nursery again. |

my mom always said it's bad luck to get any baby stuff before the baby was born...

She should wait...just to be on the safe side.

One of my friends had her shower so late the baby was AT the shower because he came early. My other friend had it a month before she was due.

I'm due July 2nd and my shower was May 24. We almost had it June 14 but my mother was worried that would be too late.

I wouldn't be surprised if she's planning on having another shower later on since this one is so early
My cousin is due beginning of August and we're throwing her a little family shower at the very end of this month. She just had a baby last July, but it was a boy and now she's having a girl so we want to do this for her. Nothing big at all though. |

I'm due July 8th and my shower was May 16th. People should NEVER have their shower that early. 3 months along is still in the danger zone. People have
their showers at late 7-8 months because at that point they're considered to be less likely to miscarry and more at ease to prepare and celebrate --
because the time is getting close. I have no idea what they would be thinking doing it that early, how strange.

Why so early? Is she just in it for the presents? I have a pretty strong stance on baby showers...one of my girlfriends had 4 and I was like, "Um, we get
it. You're having a baby. Enough already."

I always think that showers should be AFTER the baby is born...
So much could go wrong up until the baby comes home.... |
