Posts: 2622 (06/02/2009 10:29 PM) Reply Quote More Recent Posts Message Friend Block Invite Ignore	I've called the shelter, gone to the shelter more than once, looked all over craigslist, petfinder.com, and other websites. Put out alerts, posted flyers, put up TV alerts (I work at the station, so it didn't cost me anything), called for her every night. Her litter box is making a stink outside (to attract her) put food out in different places leading our door.. And nothing... I've thought I saw her twice, but twas not her. She's a little black kitty, so easy to see other little black kitties and think its her. It just sucks so bad... and I'd give anything to get her back...

I work at a PEG Access center, and we don't have commercials. It's mostly a community message board on TV. But it reaches the entire metro area of Cincinnati that is in Ohio.. soo. Worth it.

We thought we spotted him a few times around the area. I even slept in the garage with my son (who was only 9 at the time...) with the door open thinking he'd come to us. We ended up putting his food/water in a 'live trap' and caught him that way!

What sucks is that some people are like "Move on" Or some people reply to my postings with "here, you can take my kitty since you lost yours" And I'm like, no, I want MY cat. And I know her, getting another cat while she was gone, if she came back, would be the biggest sign of disrespect, you know? It just sucks because there is a hailing storm out right now and if she's out there, she's not happy!

She was wonderful and had the best personality. When I moved out of my parent's house to my own apartment in another state, I took her with me and she ran away from my apartment. I think she was used to going outside a couple times a month that she could easily find our house back home but when we moved it was more difficult because we lived in an apartment complex where every apartment looked the same. My boyfriend and I searched high and low, put up signs, visited shelters and nothing. A part of me thinks someone has her because she was soo nice and loving but I always wonder. Since then I have moved out of that apartment and to another city but I always think of her when I go back to Tampa. She may come back, just don't lose hope. I know how hard it can be but keep your hopes up. You never know. Does she have a micro-chip? I regret not putting one in her to this day but since then I have put micro-chips in my 2 cats so that never happens again. It also helps to not let them outside as well.

Don't give up, my friend lost her cat a few years ago & it was gone for 3 months- then showed up at the house one day!

My cat went missing for a week when i was just 9 and she was about 3. we live in this rich gated in culdesac and somehow she got out, well we looked everywhere than one day i was walking the neighborhood and i was calling her name and i heard her meow. and i ran to the wal that separates our culdesac from the one behind and my cat was in Gary paytons ( yes the basketball players) backyard. of course at that point i didnt know who he was i was just a kid i know now though. so i got my ( not so smart ) grandpa and he decided to toss me over the wall because the other culdesac is gated to so we wouldnt have the code for theirs. so i handed her up to him and he left me there. i waited 20 minutes for him to come back with a ladder....did i mention our house was a 1 minute walk from where my cat was found lol. i was hiding behind a palm tree. anyways we had put up tons of flyers and everything but i was just so hapy to finally find her. so hey there is hope so i hope that yu find your cat. good luck ok. oh and remember a collar is your best friend lol. we learned that when my cat went missing,

Its something I wanted to do, but we never really had the cash/time to do it. Now if she does come back, I'm all ready to purchase pet health insurance to help cover her costs. She'll need to go to the vet anyways to get checked out and probably dewormed. Plus, I live in a very urbanized neighborhood (better known as a ghetto, but I like it here, whatevs) There are colonies of Ferals everywhere. I've had other cats show up, but NOT her. I tried putting a collar on her before.. she spent 20 minutes trying to take it off.. it was so pathetic! And she's mostly an indoor cat. She would sneak out when we would come home sometimes, though she didn't in the wintertime after she got stuck outside for an hour. (I came home from work, only to notice my roommate accidentally let her out. She came running the second I called her) Once the weather got warmer, she started venturing out. And she ventured out when one of us wasn't looking, because we usually always catch her! My boyfriend thinks someone took her in, but she only like 4 people - she LOVES my boyfriend, I'm her playmate and she says hi to our friends Jim and Allie who she knew from being a kitten. She hates everyone else, including my roommates, their cat(who is searching for her in the windows all the time), and my parents. So I'm having a hard time thinking someone got her. She is my everything as well. She has the oddest personality that only her owner could love. I'll keep everyone updated.. I'm really hoping she comes back... Maybe I'll get that whistle... I've been walking around with her toy that makes loud bird noises.. no luck so far...

I found a cat outside my condo last week and I took him to a vet's office and they checked his tattoo and were able to see who his regular vet was and they got his owner's number and called her and she had been looking for him all night, so we had a happy ending. I think tattooing might be cheaper than microchipping but check with your vet. Don't lose hope though. Cats can have a way of finding their way home.
