We might be moving there for a job, it is located in Essex, but not sure if we would live in Essex or somewhere around there. I have done some looking around online about information about the places in the area, but I would also like to hear from people that live in the area to get more of what to expect and all.

Depending on the area, it's not all that dangerous or anything, though. It's also pretty cheap. Towson is much nicer and a commute to Essex isn't too bad because you go opposite of the traffic on 695. You could also look into Perry Hall and Whitemarsh which are pretty close to Essex. Towson is a really nice area, from what I've seen going up there to the mall and school. Whitemarsh is also really nice, my friend lives close by and it's nice.

Very Clean and Low Crime ... Nice areas in general. But you will pay a good bit more to live in those areas. If you are on a budget and still want a pretty nice area ... I suggest Dundalk ... Its like 5 mins drive and your in essex ... Dundalk is much better then Essex ..... If you Need to be in essex ... Id suggest careful research on your neibhorhood.... Stay away from Chase in essex ! maybe stay around middle river !!??!! Try to move where you don't have to commute on 695 but rather back roads or else its hell. Cockeysville is decent. So is hunt valley but that's getting a little far out there.

Would Essex be fine to work in, just not to live? What about Parkville or Pikesville (even though that might be pushing it)? I looked at Middle River, White Marsh, Rosedale and Dundalk, information wise. Thanx for the help. I am sure there is more to ask, just not sure what to. Edited By: Rysi 05/31/2009 4:57 PM. Last year he bought a HUGE home in a delvelopment in port deposit ... it looks like a dang mansion ... he pays like a $2800 mortgage a month on that there. Towson is Definently in the upper price ranges ! Also the Traffic commute from towson to essex and back everyday will be horrid .... Especially going home !
