Last year they went to Africa for like a month to some wildlife 'ranch' or something. I'd seen some pics of them posing with some dead gazelles, etc - which I thought was kinda sad. While I'm not against eating meat or anything, I just can't IMAGINE looking at those animals and then killing them and posing with them. But then tonight, on facebook, I suddenly see more pics of dead animals. First I see a zebra, and then a giraffe () and then TWO LIONS - a male and a female lying there dead!!!!!! Seriously, I know this is a pointless post, but I was just so horrified by the pictures

Some people do it for sport/pride/etc., some for survival, others for the money. But what the people that do it for the money don't know is that a lion is worth more alive than it is dead.

Poaching, and killing where it's illegal to kill that animal - unacceptable. Poachers aren't stupid, they're aware what they're doing is wrong. A tribe sends a warrior out to prove he's a man by hunting one? Go ahead. Killing one to just kill one? Disgusting.

She wasn't in the lion/giraffe photos. I know when her family hunts closer to home, they keep/eat the meat. I assume that when they go hunting in Africa, the meat isn't 'wasted' either - though I also don't think she's bringing it back to North America either. I assume it is ate at the place she was staying? She previously told me that going to these large wilderness areas (where the animals can roam free) is 100% better then buying the grocery store meat. Its natural, etc. While I see her point, I know I could never do it personally (or be involved in anyway). The lions, etc just took it over the edge! They are such beautiful, rare animals! Even if they eat the meat (which seriously, do people eat LION??) its not like they are doing it to survive. And taking pictures with the animals all POSED just looks so horrible I think her family is talking about going back again in August

Some girl had pictures of slain sharks on her Facebook profile and I was so close to unfriending her. Sharks and giraffes are two of my favorite animals. I'm actually converting to vegetarianism - it's not hard because I didn't eat much meat to begin with, maybe turkey or chicken once a week. I love my fruits and carbs!

There's a huge hunting reserve that (the blonde that dated Prince Harry) Chelsy Davy's father owns there. One of my friend's mom had zebra boots made from one of her dad's conquests while he was there and they hunt lions, cheetahs, elephants... whatever. Its awful. Posts: 2191 (05/25/2009 12:48 AM) Reply Quote More Recent Posts Message Friend Block Invite Ignore	Im gonna go ahead and put this out here because it bothers me..... on this hunting reserve (HHK Safari), not only do they treat the animals like shit but they mistreat the local Africans, calling them "short-haired pointers" (the safari trackers) and "HIV positives", amongst other things, make them work around the clock and don't provide sanitary eating and living conditions. However the business is pulling down a ridiculous amount of $$$. I wish that entire operation would be shut down.
