Montreal and Toronto are fun in Canada. Toronto, I believe, is a shorter drive. You'd basically be driving around Lake Ontario to get to Toronto.

You could also get to Toronto going through the northern part of NY, instead of through Buffalo. It's kind of the scenic route and it's usually easier
to cross the border over there instead of at Niagara Falls. I think it's around 4 hours to get there.
