The article talks mainly about the boy and his mother running from the court order....I couldn't find the original article where it solely talked about the court order.
Anyway, for those who don't want to read the article - this boy, age 13, has cancer (a fairly curable kind) but quit chemotherapy after only 1 visit. His family is roman catholic but I guess they practice other beliefs about natural remedies and things of that nature. After he stopped therapy and went on his family's own practices, his tumor grew, and the court imposed a court order.
Thoughts? I think this classifies as neglect, personally. Obviously their methods are not working, and they are ignoring current medical practices that are proven to work and cure such things. It's not for sure he will be cancer free if he does chemo, but that is the best modern medicine has out there. To deny your child that is neglect and endangerment in my opinion. If their method works, then great. But if it doesn't, then I think other ways to need be explored to try and save your child's life. If someone is 18 and wants to say no to chemo, then that's their choice...but he is only 13.

Just because it wasn' t listed
doesn't mean that shouldn't be taken into account. Plus the physical side effects aren't very fun.
