3000-4000 means you might have a heart attack soon.

I have a mostly vegetarian diet with lean proteins (flexitarian). I also eat a lot of fruit. Then I have a bit of a sweet tooth... I eat multi-course meals once a week or so too. And eat so much sushi! I burn more than half of that in various activities every day though. I lose weight super quickly if I cut down to 1500-2000, but I have no need to lose weight right now. |

I try to stay between 1,000-1200
I also try to work out twice a day 5 times a wk. Once in the AM, once in PM about 1.5hrs- 2 each time? Is this bad? I'm about 200 pounds, and by my birthday in August I want to go from a size 16 to like 12/14. So I do an hr. of cardio each time, upper body in the AM lower in the PM, abs each time as well. Realistic? Overworking?

You definitely need to be eating more than 1000 calories if you're working out that much.

BabyMamma787 wrote:What kind of workouts do you do? 1000-1200 might be too low for maximum results. Your body tends to retain fat if you don't eat enough. If you're burning several hundred calories a day by working out and you only eat 1000-1200, then your net calorie intake is too low. Your body uses up a significant amount of calories just to keep you alive. Not having enough calories sends your body into starvation mode. Losing a few sizes in a few months is totally doable, especially because weight comes off easier at a higher weight. |

BabyMamma787 wrote:Very bad. You're going to burn yourself out and probably put your body in starvation mode. I'd recommend trying out Sparkpeople.com to get an idea of how many calories you should be eating. It's very motivational as well. |

BabyMamma787 wrote:Well keep in mind that machines are usually inaccurate when it comes to the number of calories burned. It does sound like you're not eating enough though. Raise your caloric intake to at least 1500 calories if you're working out that much. And it's not just about calories, it's about what you eat. You need eat a lot of nutrient rich, low calorie foods. Don't forget about protein! And don't do the whole low-carb thing, if you're working out that much, you definitely need the source of energy. |

btw 1000-1200. I used to eat under 1000, but then I wasn't losing weight so I increased it to at least 1000 a day.

Anywhere between 900 and 1100 depending on how much I snack and what is for lunch at work.
Lately I'm sure it's doubled considering my stomach has been a bottomless pit of PMS.

Honestly between 1400-1600. But when I'm trying to be good it's between 1200-1400.
And that site is disgusting! |
