Yeah. Mary even requested to be buried with her mother and Elizabeth was like, "yeeeeaaaahhhh...how about no?"

I love Elizabeth, but that was a little hurtful. The poor girl (Mary).

for the running commentary
What'd you think of the Fool, Laura? Wasn't he awesome? Who else would dare say even half that shit to Henry? That was such an awesome episode. And even with naked ho/lady in waiting, that scene at the end with the grief sex and the church service and the 6 Articles was really well done. |

The grief sex was…well…hot & not. Cause one, it KINDA looked like he was wearing a nappy. Honestly I did a second take, lmfao. And HER. Ugh. Her and her boobs. Annoying. Lol But hey, topless JRM is never a bad thing. |

Everyone seemed to think he was a hallucination at first. That was most likely intentional and very well done. I loved his whole bit about the wives. "And
that other one who's name escapes me....as her head escaped her."
Yeah, I understand what you mean about the sex. Like the best shots of the sex scenes were the ones you couldn't see her face. ) so they needed the necessary ho in there somewhere.
I must say, JRM has a great sex face though. Even when he's having grief sex.

laura0985 wrote:Me too! I thought he was hallucinating. The Fool was very random since that was the first time they'd even mentioned him. I don't ever remember reading about him so, I didn't know. I used to be really interested in Henry VIII a while back...(high school, early college) so when the Tudors first came on, it kinda pissed me off because it was so weird. Believe it or not, I thought it reminded me of a tawdry costume soap.
But yeah... I'm glad I've gotten over it and no longer give a shit about any 'real' details or factual errors. If I still cared or checked up regularly, I'd be reeeallly mad because they're just on some other shit right now. |

They've gotten a lot better in the past couple seasons with the accuracy. But there's still sometimes things that happen and you just go

I did just learn a strange bit of history, though. Seems the real Cardinal Poole was actually a reformer, not as portrayed here.

As much as I love the show they need to get their history straight. I know they need to make exciting TV but I want a fat Henry lolz

LisaChasez wrote: I don't think so, Lisa. My understanding is that Cardinal Pole was appointed Archbishop of Canterbury by Mary when she became Queen...there's no way she'd appoint a Reformer as Archbishop given her own staunchly Catholic views. He's known as the last Catholic Archbishop in England. In fact, they were very close. He was placed under arrest by the Pope on suspicion of herecy, possibly because he at some point expressed a degree of opposition to Mary's wide-scale Protestant burnings, but he was released soon after. He died a few hours after she did, and was reportedly in great grief and despair when he learned she had passed away. He was definitely nothing but Catholic.

I swear I just saw something about it on TV on the History channel! And by reformer, I didn't mean a protestant, but someone who knew that the Church could
use some tweaking. Lemme look.

And LOL, more than you'd ever want to know about Cardinal Pole

And they've gotten a LOT better with the facts than they were in season 1 (don't even get me started on the Mary/Margeret thing). So no, since I'm watching a contemporary version of this story, I am completely fine with a thin, hot Henry. |

I'm not sure about him being a reformer (I'd never heard that about him before) but I know Henry's problem with him really stemmed from Pole
(isn't it Pole, not Poole?) criticizing Henry about all sorts of things. And of course him having Plantangenet blood didn't help his situation.
