The ring of death sucks. It happened to me once, so I opened it up & cleaned it. It has been working fine ever since.

The towel trick is when you take at least two towels & wrap them around the 360. If I remember correctly, you're supposed to leave it alone while
it's on & then it's supposed to start working again. The towels are there to stop it from overheating.

Maybe you should get a cooling fan that clamps onto the back of the console and use it everytime you play. I've got one for mine.
