Beth used to be a huge part in their life... she was always on the show helping out and she just disappeared.
she co-wrote the first book too and she didn't even do promo with them did she? |

jodi watched the kids for a day and gave them gum. The kids then put it all over they're clothes and kate yelled at jodi thru the phone. It was

You left out the best part! When she yelled at Collin and said she was throwing his teddy bear in the trash!

Oh wait the best part was when people here were all "I can't blame Kate! She's sooooo busy! She doesn't have time to remove gum from
clothes!"

I want a shirt that says, "I wanna punch that shrew-bitch Kate in the face!" Is there one like that?

This whole thing makes me sick to my stomache over those kids. They have to grow up with that Nazi. Yikes!

Dana278 wrote:What? Uh, I don't remember anyone saying they couldn't blame Kate for throwing away the bear. IIRC, most everyone was in agreement that she shouldn't have thrown away the bear. My issue was that Jodi shouldn't have given a bunch of toddlers gum. Which she shouldn't have. That was dumb and irresponsible. You don't just give a child you're babysitting something like that without quickly checking with the parents first. I know I wouldn't. The best part of that thread, imo, were the people going on and on and on about what a great aunt Jodi was. Yeah, look how great she is! She sold out the family several times and didn't give a fuck how it affected the people in that family. She's so awesome!

I always felt bad for Jon. She's nuts. He's miserable in his life.

BlackStilettos wrote:No I'm not talking about the bear. Yeah most people were in agreement on the bear thing. But there were a good handful of people who were on Kate's side about the gum in general, and that made me laugh. I can understand being upset if someone gave your child gum without your permission, because you don't want them to choke and die. But we had seen how Kate herself gives them gum on airplanes, so that's not the issue. The issue was her massive "stain removal" duties that she was pissed about. Because that five minutes of gum removal would apparently throw her whole day into a tailspin. And Jodi WAS awesome. She was a great aunt, but she's not really an aunt anymore, thanks to Kate. Perhaps I wouldn't have called her awesome back then if I could see the future, but unfortunately I can't! |

Children and adults alike chew gum during flights to alleviate their discomfort (my doc actually recommended that to me). So the fact that Kate gave her kids
gum in that instance doesn't tell me that gum is ok whenever.

I think it'd be a much different situation if it was a random babysitter, but when it's family, the rules sort of change. Especially when it's
family doing you a huge favor and watching 7 kids in addition to their own. You kind of have to cut her a break because she was looking for anything to calm
them down and shut them up.

I don't think it's different if it's family; my own grandmother, who helped raise me, made sure she contacted my mom whenever she wanted to give me
something she wasn't sure I could have. But whatever. No point going around in circles and talking the issue into the ground.
