I said 'overtly sexy,' and what I mean by that is a very specific type of thing that works well in Maxim (which is why I referred to them as popular with guys, because they consistently do well on those lists) but that tends not to appeal so well to women. The fact that you view them as lacking relatability and warmth would actually be a prime example of what I was getting at - it's not all women who are considered good looking, it's a specific type of image.

Those lists are bought and paid for by managers, agents, public relations firms, studios, and labels. Esquire didn't name Jessica Biel the Sexiest Woman Alive because men were calling for it, they did it because they were paid to do so. A donkey could conduct a more accurate survey.

I really don't think Jessica Biel has an overtly sexual image like Scarlett Johansson, Jessica Alba or Megan Fox. Maybe because she doesn't have an image at all. Like somebody upthread mentioned she simply doesn't have any name recognition. A true nobody among somebodies. If there were an actual poll among men, I suspect she wouldn't fare too well, for the simple fact that nobody knows who she is.

that's exactly what happened. during the year that she won the title, she didn't have any movies out or anything so why would any vote for her if they didn't know who was at all if it weren't for her pr peeps getting her the title. and yes, guys are about the ass, but they're also about the boobs, and other softer features. most men don't like women who are more built than they are. jessical biel is not ugly, but by no means is she drop dead gorgeous. she's rather plan to me. and i've never seen any of her movies even before she was dating justin timberlake. i don't see movies for hot chicks. i see movies for hot guys and/or movies with strong female characters. in order to get those strong female roles, you have to be talented, which she isn't. she wasn't even great in 7th heaven and that was her bread and butter.
