I love the classics! I think thats why i loved HS English so much. I'm personally not a fan of the Bronte sister's work. My favourite would be Jane
Eyre because of the little crazy twist in it. It wasnt bad. The Catcher in the Rye and the Alice in Wonderland books are great imo.

If you want to try the Bronte sisters but haven't really liked Jane Eyre (too happy-ending-y) or Wuthering Heights (too evil, lol), try Villette by
Charlotte Bronte or The Tenant of Wildfell Hall by Anne Bronte. I think in a lot of ways they're better than the more "famous" ones.

The Virgin Suicides was a great book. The only other ones on your list that I've read in their entirety are:
Frankenstein - Kind of liked it, actually, and I don't generally get into monster, vampires, aliens, werewolf type stuff. The Handmaid's Tale - Read it in 10th grade and hated it. The Catcher in the Rye - Love it Pride & Prejudice - One of my all-time favorites Jurassic Park - Liked it There are six more on the list that I've started and never finished. I'm not very good with following through. |

Update on my Mansfield Park reading - It finally got good. But Fanny Price "vexes me" as Austen would say. I get her but she is so frustrating. I
hope to finish it tonight. I'm going to library today form my next read - woo hoo!
Suggestions: Agatha Christie - particulary Ten Little Indians The Feast of All Saints - by Ann Rice (There's no vampires. It's more a historical romance) The Color Purple - Alice Walker

I loved Frankenstein, Black Hawk Down, Animal Farm and Dracula.
My favorite book is Alice in Wonderland followed by Wicked. Get the edition of Alice with 'Through the Looking Glass' also! It really is an awesome book. |

I'm on a classics kick too. My last book was Wuthering Heights. I personally didn't really care for it much. I'm not sure what all the buzz is
about that book, other than appreciating the "darkness" of the story.
