Seriously. I was starting to wonder if I was the only person here who is not okay with people crying at work all the live long day.

If the crying disrupts you than you have every right to say something. But otherwise it's her way of dealing with her problems.

There's some douchebaggery afoot
.
You've decided her issue doesn't meet your criteria for something to cry about so she needs to pull herself together? I admit it would probably weird me out if I saw someone sobbing all day at work just because it's so...intimate and emotional and one likes that comfortable detachment to a certain point at work, but damn. Maybe the insurance/car thing is wreaking financial havoc in her life and will disturb many other important things. Maybe it's requiring a lot of her attention and energy so she can't focus on work and her job is suffering so that's upsetting. Maybe she's on some "fuck my life my dad died, my car is fucked up..." stuff. Who knows? Especially if she goes in the bathroom and isn't really disrupting anything to do with you personally, I mean, let it go. |

If her crying/being on the phone while in her cube is that disturbing to you and your corworkers, then go be the professional that you clearly are yourself (seeing as you're all up in arms over your coworkers lack of professionalism) and calmly pull the woman aside in a private office and tell her that you are concerned about her. Then gently bring up that people in the office have noticed that she cries a lot, which has been disrupting the office flow/dynamics/whatever. If she continues to cry/be on the phone after that, then go to her boss and voice your complaints with them.

And yes, I realize I will get tons of responses telling me that people cannot control sobbing at work for weeks at a time and how mean I am. |

i want to know how the hell you drive into high water three freaking times. and she's fighting the insurance company to salvage the car? that doesn't
speak highly of her decision making abilities.

I cried yesterday after my personal training session because I couldn't find my water bottle. Stupid thing to cry over, yes. But I was
stressed/upset/overwhelmed by so many other things that the water bottle just happened to be what pushed me over the edge. I cried in front of my sister, my
trainer, and her fiance.
