...I just turned 22 (and look about that age), I didn't have any kids with me, and I don't look pregnant.
What gives?

I think some people do it "just in case", like wishing someone a Happy Easter

Maybe. It was just very odd. I know when he said it I must have given him a look like "what the hell?" but I just kinda said "oh! Thank
you." and went back to filling out my deposit slip.

Can't she tell what? There are 22 year olds that have children.

It was actually a he, and I know he was likely about 16 because he was talking about his learner's permit to another teller while I was at the front.
There are lots of 22 year olds with children, but I think it's not so common that (without any other indicators that I had kids) he should assume that I have them. |

Eh, my bf wished me a happy mother's day, so I guess people are just using the wish loosely this year lol

He was just trying to be polite. Holiday=say it to everyone so that you don't look like an ass

I hate that.
My mother, grandmother and mother-in-law are all deceased, and I'm not a mom, so I don't celebrate Mother's Day at all.

I had to work today and i didnt wish anyone a happy mothers day, helll no! I already offended some old lady when she wasnt old enough for the senior discount.
Now I dont ask anyone if they are old enough for that, I give it to everyone who I think looks the age.

I never say "Happy [whatever]" to anyone. My mom and I went shopping yesterday and she was saying, "Happy Mother's Day" to random women
and I was like, "How do you know they're a mother?"
