It was like every other actor who played a big name tried, in their own way, to impersonate the originals without being exact duplicates while also bringing their own flavor to each character, but I didn't think Zoe did anything to try and imitate Nichelle Nichols or Uhura. And I really wish they had given her a little longer fingernails I remember watching those movies
from the 80's as child and thinking Uhura had some nice fingernails.
It was an amazing movie. My mom, who is a big trekkie fan (been one for like 30+ years now, she even read all the books) found it absolutely brilliant and wants to see it again. She actually cried at the end. Why exactly? I don't know, but obviously the movie really moved her and she loved it. I thought it was a really great new Star Trek movie for my generation. And Zachery as Spock, oh yeah baby, new crush alert  He was the best character out of the
entire movie and Zachery was absolutely perfect as Spock.

I saw it today and just wow. It was amazing.
I am not a Star Trek fangirl but I thought this movie was great. I havent really loved a movie this much since the Dark Knight last summer. And it was really funny too. The special effects were amazing. I mean everything looked so real. The Enterprise looked beautiful, it looked like a real ship. I loved the cast. Chris Pine, he's a heartbreaker. I know that Capt. Kirk was a bit of a flirt but just wow. He did a great job and Chris is
really cute. I also loved Zachary Qunito. He was Spock. He was probably my favorite character next to Kirk. I thought the rest of the cast was well picked. I
love Simon Pegg and I thought he did a great job as Scottie.
Spoiler
I dont know if was in the original series like in the other spoiler but I liked Spock and Uruha's realtionship. I thought it was sweet. Like the scene
in the elevator after he lost his mom and home planet. It was so touching.
Also yay for the original Spock for making an appearance. He was great and the audience I saw it with really liked it.
I know I will be seeing this again pretty soon. I really liked this movie. |

just got back and i LOVED it...Chris Pine was so sexy. I pretty much went to stare at him for 2 hours but having the movie not suck was a plus

My mom and I were just talking about the whole Spock thing I had in the spoiler and she had an interesting take on it that differs from the article. I wonder
if they really wanted it to happen that way, like how they talk about it in the article or if they didn't want to give away any of the storyline, which is
how my mom came to this conclusion...

I loved the movie as well and I was never a big Star Trek person. I went with my dad who has always loved it and he thought the movie was great and that
everyone did a great job. Spock was always my favorite and Zachary Quinto did a great job. Chris Pine was awesome as well.

I saw this movie at an advanced screening on IMAX and the only reason I wanted to go was because I think Chris Pine is SO gorgeous. My best friend and I ended
up LOVING the movie. I'd never seen anything Star Trek and have no interest in sci-fi stuff, but I can't stop raving about this movie. I haven't
enjoyed a movie this much in so long, if ever! I can't wait to see it again, I have to find another friend to go with me!
And yeah, I'm mildly obsessed with Chris Pine now.

I'm not using a damn spoiler tag. This is a thread about the movie in the TV Shows & Movies forum.
If you don't want to be spoiled, don't come in here! Everyone realizes that this is a REAL "re-boot" of the story, don't they? This is NOT a telling of what happened before the original series because the time travel changed it all. This is really an alternate universe of what happens when things are changed by Nero's actions in the movie. He killed Kirk's dad and changed Kirk's history. He destroyed Vulcan and changed Spock's history etc etc etc. They can now do whatever they want with the future movies. They do not have to adhere to the established Star Trek history. And that's what I love about it! |

I liked the film. I like that all the main cast were given their little moment to show what they're about and it had some funny bits. There was a little
too much Spock but it seems like the cast vibed well together on set. I like that they've set this chapter in an alternate reality, gives them much more
room to play in for the sequels.
