My mom just shot me a nasty email about not remembering their anniversary... isn't that THEIR thing? I never send a card or anything, am I alone here?

I know my parents' and I always say something. Send flowers or something if it's a biggish one.

Um, I know their anniversary and recognize it with a phone call or email.

I used to get them presents, but since they split up a year ago, I'm certainly not anymore.

OK I guess it is me then. I have no idea when it is. I actually thought it was the 25th, tomorrow, when I saw her email.. oops!

fs1856 wrote:lol that's exactly what I said. My dad got on my case about it one year and I was so confused. I was like huh? Isn't it YOUR anniversary? It's not mine. But I guess a lot of kids do recognize it for their parents. Maybe I should be a better daughter lol. |

It's the same as my brother's birthday, so I remember.

I know it's sometime late in August, like the 24th or 28th, but other than that? Pfft. I remember birthdays, not anniversaries.

I don't know if it warrants a nasty e-mail, but isn't not a bad thing to say something. I always get my parents a card. They've put up with each
other for 31 years and birthed me and three other kids, I think they deserve a card for their dedication.

My friend's mom got so pissed at her for not getting her and her dad an anniversary gift.
I've never really heard of that! I know when my parents anniversary is, but they celebrate it together. It's their thing. |

Both my parents are dead and I still remember their anniversary.

I told my mom Happy Anniversary last year and she told me it wasn't my thing to say!

Wow...I'm surprised so many people don't. We always get my parents a card and gift for their anniversary.

I know my parents anniversary and I always call to congratulate them on it. Back for their 25th - my brother and I threw them a big party.

I know when it is. And I sort of recognize it. But I don't get them a present or anything.
