That is the best advice ever. You never know what life will throw at your best laid plans/intentions.

The year I turned 27, Oprah (I think, I never saw it) did a show that showed the optimal age to have kids. Wouldn't you know, it was 27. No kidding - two
of my friends who were moms by 26 saw the show and called me up and gave me "the lecture." "Time to start having kids, cause your ovaries will
shrivel up and die and your uterus will grow worms." Well, not those exact words, but you get the gist.
I waited til 30 to have my first, and am 33 and will be having my 2nd any day now. It's all what you want and feel comfortable with. I'm OK with being 50 and my kid graduating from high school. To me, 50 is still relatively young to be able to go out and enjoy life and do things like retire and travel. Now, I do have a friend who just turned 40 in dec and kept putting off having kids and putting them off. Now she's been trying for the last year or so and is having no luck conceiving as of yet. So it's different for everyone. |

I was 35 when I had my now 7 month old, and I'll probably be 38 when I have our 2nd (and final)

You should definetly have them before 35.
It is harder to get pregnant after that. Don't believe all the hype that these late 30/ 40 year old actresses had them naturally. Most of them have had ivf and more. They can afford the best and if you can't, you should not wait. |

30 seems normal to me. Early 20s seems crazy.

My mom had me at 29 and my brother at 34. He's graduating high school now and my parents are 53/54 years old. We're all fine.

I know quite a few women, myself included, over 35 who conceived naturally and on that note, I know quite a few younger women -- 27-30 range who are having difficulty conceiving. |

Looking back, I'm so glad that I didn't get pregnant early on - I was much more immature than I thought at the time. Also, as queeney has indicated, infertility is not the sole experience of the 35+ crowd. |

I'm ready now...at 35 (nearly 36).
I don't talk about my personal life on here anymore due to a major stalker problem but I will say that all the boxes are ticked and I have a green light .
I couldn't even imagine having kids in my 20's... I didn't know anything about ANYTHING!

I don't see anything wrong with it. People are living longer and more active lives these days anyway.

My little brother was a tiny infant at my high school graduation, if that tells you anything.
It was funny too because she kept saying "If I don't get pregnant before my 40th birthday, we're gonna stop trying", and she found out she was pregnant just 1 month before her 40th. |

28-33 would be the ideal age for me. I don't plan on kids though.

I had my first at 34 and am now pregnant with my 2nd at 36...I couldn't imagine being a mom when I was in my 20's -- I wasn't ready finanically or
emotionally.
And I was definitely one of those girls who had thought I'd be married by 26, have kids my 27 or 28 and be done by 31... life has a way of figuring itself out.... |

And for the comment about being 50 when your child goes to college, etc. - 50 isn't elderly!!

I'm 20 and want 4 kids preferably before I'm 30. If I could have had it my way I would be married right now. I always wanted marriage and kids young.

I think your 20's are meant to be enjoyed kid free! My mom had me at 36 and my grandmother had her at 41 with no problems.
