What do I even say or do when I get there? I have no idea how this works!
Damn, I have to give in and go tanning.

I'm nervous! Will people think it's weird because I'm black?

I know plenty of black girls that go tanning. Just sign up for a package and get your ass in a tanning bed!

Hmm, I've never been tanning and I wouldn't know what to say either. 'Hi I need a tan' sounds kind of dorky.

I don't want to go! Stupid skin! I've decided that I'm going in the middle of a weekday while school is still in.

I'm going because I keep reading that it can help psoriasis go away. Some people seem to say it work and others say it doesn't. I want to see if it
will work for me!

So say that... tell them that you heard it helps with psoriasis and see if, maybe, they know if that's true.

Shayme wrote: It helps skin issues for sure, I don't have psoriasis but another skin condition and it was noticeably better after tanning. A woman I work with, her brother owns a chain of tanning salons in the midwest, and we had a convo about this. Her friend has psoriasis on her feet (I think) and tanning helped more than the soaps and lotions her derm gave her. |

At the tanning place I go to there was actually a question on the paperwork asking if you were tanning for medical reasons so it can't be that unusual.

Lucky! Mine is all over my body. Even on the palms of my hands. You know how much it sucks to have your palms itch all the time? I'm willing to try
anything, so I will go tanning. I just never really wanted to because I don't get it.

Every salon I've been to will ask you when you walk in if you're a new customer if they don't recognize you. And when you say yes, they will
usually be very helpful. Make sure you go to a place that's clean!
