I've seen a faint "figure" in my current house. Nothing bad there. But it my previous house there was definitely a bad spirit there. It was a two bedroom apartment and we picked one room for our bedroom. The first three nights we couldn't sleep in the room - felt like someone watching us - hovering over us, and it was just an uneasy feeling. So we moved to the other room.
The doors opened on there own. That feeling of being watched constantly was there. That room we moved out of was constantly cold - no matter what season or if we had the heat or ac on. I never could stay in that room for more than a few seconds. I could on - but you get the drift. It was not good ghost/spirit. Oh, something "sat' on the end my bed one morning. I just felt it but nothing was there. Our neighbors in the building had weird experiences also.
Anybody ever seen a ghost or spirit?

Yeah, I saw my mom's dad once. Unless it was my mind playing tricks on me. I'm too lazy to tell the story right now.

I've never experienced a ghost but I think I might have experienced a memory of a ghost in passing while sleeping. About a year ago, I had a dream that I
was in a movie theater seeing a movie when all of sudden I heard all these screams that the movie theater was on fire but the doors were locked and we could
not get out. The fire began to grow and as everything was burning, we saw all these people who seemed like soldiers with guns, shooting at people in the
theater..I soon woke up after that..I was scared but did not think much of it.
About a few months ago, I was reading the graphic novel Persopolis, which for those who haven't read it, is based on a true story- when I came across a scene of a movie theater being burned down by militants. I went to check out the movie theater that was burned down on google, and saw that the architecture of the movie theater was exactly like the one in my dream. |

My aunt had an old farm house that was built in the 1800's and went through the Civil War. She'd see ghosts there all the time and her son would
talk to them when he was like 1 1/2.
When I was helping her pack to move one night, I saw a man in a top hat (like Abraham Lincoln wore) walk across her living room. My grandma saw him too (she was beside me) so it wasn't like I was imagining things. And when my mom was packing stuff up in the attic, she smelled an old woman's perfume and thought that one of us had come up to check on her because she heard foot steps walking around. None of us went upstairs.
Another time when I was watching her son when he was 6 months old, all of the electronics upstairs turned on while he was taking a nap. I went up to check on him and all of the lights, tvs, radios, etc. were turned on. No one else was home except me and the baby.
And there's lots more stories like this. They had glass doors downstairs going into all of the rooms (kitchen, dining room, living room, and office) and they'd always hear the doors banging. |

My little sis swears that my mom who passed last July is haunting her house (knowing my mom...she would do something like this
I didn't really believe her either until one day I was walking down the hallway and felt what I thought was a spiderweb outside their door that stretched to the other side of the hallway. I walked through it and freaked out, but didn't see a web. It was the weirdest feeling. I tried walking down the hallway again to see if it was just a draft, but felt nothing. |

I might have one in my suite.
On several occasions, I've seen something that looks similar to this: (The lighter part) "float" across both my bedroom, and
living room ceilings.

I've been touched (on the arm), and taped on the back. Seen my dad's figure in the doorway of his bedroom a few times, felt his energy behind my cousin when she was talking about him to my aunt. |

I hate when this happens to me. It happens to me every once in awhile. I hope it's not a ghost each time. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sleep_paralysis |

It seems like everyone sees them on here while they've been in bed or waking up. I wonder why that is...

Yes.
I was in my parents room with the door open. I looked to my right down the hall and I saw two figures. A middle aged man, and a little girl wearing a pink dress and has curls. Both dressed in turn of the century clothing. (definitely early 1900's). I glanced back and they were gone. About 6 months later, I was talking to my mom and sister (both had experienced some paranormal activity in our house) and my mom tells us she's seen a little girl hanging around. She ended up describing the exact girl I had seen... I had NEVER told anyone that story. My house was built in the early 1900's and I always did feel something was there. On occassion, I would feel something cold at the back of my neck and I would always just say very firmly, Let me alone, and they would leave. I definitely want to do some research on the house/my block to see if the little girl died here. |

I've probably seen 3 of them (not counting the like, 30 times I've seen my dead cat), but I've had tons of other experiences.
Ever since I can remember, I have felt someone behind me. I feel them right now. My Mom says that when I was about 3, I started talking about it, and asking who it was. Eventually, I just got used to it. When I was 2, I moved to a really old house. I think it was built in the late 1800's. I've seen pictures of the family who used to live there. Anyway, my Uncle saw a woman through the window walking up the driveway towards my door, he opened the door to see who it was, and there was no one there. When I was about 7, I was sick and sleeping on the couch. I heard someone talking and it woke me up. I saw a woman in a long white dress that kind of looked like a wedding dress standing in the corner, floating. Her head almost touched the ceiling. I turned around to yell for my Mom, and when I turned back, she was gone. When I was 10, my friends, and a few neighborhood kids were over, and I had gone inside to get drinks. I heard them talking really loudly and excitedly. I came outside, and they flipped out. They said they were talking to me and that I was up on the second floor porch, talking back to them. When I was about 12, I was standing outside my back door waiting for my friend and her Mom to pick me up. I saw a man who looked like Abe Lincoln, hat and all, walking in front of the door. I told my Mom about it, and it turned out that she had seen him too. A week after my Aunt died, I was asleep and dreaming, all of a sudden, my dream blacked out, and I heard my Aunt calling my name so loud it woke me up. Ever since my cat died, my Mom and I have seen him a bunch of times. We see him at least once a week. We have a cat that looks just like him, and sometimes we'll think we see her walking towards us, and then see her sleeping across the room or something. My neighbors had a chess board that belonged to their friend who had recently died. My Mom was over at their house one night, and they heard a really loud freaky creaking noise. They looked around to see where it was coming from, and when they looked at the chess board, it was warped. Severely warped. About a week after that, my neighbors heard the same noise, so of course they looked at the board, and it was back to normal. My cat died in April, and not long after, I felt a weight on my bed and then I felt something jump off...I saw a blur of white (She was white), and I looked around but there was nothing there. It disappeared. I really think it was her. Also, my mom has seen her a few times sitting in her old favorite spots.

wow, i'm glad i'm not reading these stories at night
for the house i'm living in this year, the doorbell would ring all the time, and we would go downstairs to check and never see anyone there, or even close to the house. well, turns out the doorbell is wireless and was cross-mixed with the neighbors, so sometimes ours would rings for their visitors and vice versa. one of the roommates ripped out the doorbell, and i haven't heard it ring since |

When my Aunt passed away we went down to Florida and stayed in her house with my Uncle and cousins. She was only 44 and died of cancer. Anyway, we were getting
ready for bed and my sister and I slept in the living room. We turned the lights out and layed down and started talking. Then we both looked over at the chair
next to us and it was rocking. I said to my sister, "Do you see that?" and she said yes. So after that it was hard to sleep. All night we could hear
the floor creaking EXACTLY like somebody walking around. They have wood floors. The next morning I get up to go to the bathroom. I open the door and shut it.
The minute I shut it something wrapped around me. It felt like someone was hugging me. I felt something warm on my arms. Did it scare me, YES! I walked out of
the bathroom and everybody said I had this look on my face. I bet I did!
We were going to the funeral and my Uncle was holding a box. I didn't realize my Aunts ashes were in the house. During the funeral it was FREEZING and windy. My Uncle was standing up and talking about my Aunt and the wind would get REALLY bad. It was the strangest thing. He even said, "Debbie is getting really pissed right now" and everybody laughed. LOL He said we're going to full-fill my wife's wishes and she's going to swim with the dolphins. After the funeral they released her ashes into the ocean. We went back the house and that strange feeling of her there was gone. I haven't talked about this in a few years and I still get chills! |

My parents built a house about 8 years ago and we swear it was haunted (we no longer live there)
The first incidence occurred about 6 months after we moved in, my little brother, who was about 9 at the time, was in my room and we were watching tv. I went downstairs to get a snack and as I was coming back up he was standing at the top of the stairs and said "How did you get down here from the bathroom?" I told him I wasnt in the bathroom and he said he saw a girl in a ponytail walk into the bathroom in my room so we went to look and of course nothing was there. After that, we heard stuff all the time. I had 2 closets in my bedroom and I woke up several times in the middle of the night hearing my hangers going back and forth like someone was looking at my clothes, but the doors were shut. Another time my sister and I were in the laundry room which was right outside our third floor play room, and heard the pool balls break on the pool table. We didnt think anyone was home so we went up there and all the balls were in the triangle and the cover was on. Another time my mom woke up in the middle of the night randomly and decided to check on everyone and my door was closed (I always slept with the door open) and a bright blue light was coming from under my door like my tv was on, she went to my room and as she opened the door it just went black and nothing was on and I was asleep. Another time I had left to go out with my friends but my dad and mom heard my hairdryer going off in my room so they thought I was still there. Again my door was shut so they knocked and the hairdryer turned off but there was no answer. So they knocked again and no answer so they came in and my hairdryer was laying on the floor, next to the outlet, but the cord was wrapped all the way around the handle. Lastly, one night my dad was snoring really bad so he was sleeping in the guest room. He woke up around midnight and felt and heard something crawling around the bed. He thought maybe it was my brother so he laid there for a minute but my brother never jumped up so he looked and nothing was there. We ended up doing a little research on the land, thinking maybe we built the house on some sort of battleground or something and it turned out, 2 kids were murdered on our property and it was never solved! My parents then remembered it bc the kids that were murdered were a few grades below my parents in high school. here are a few links: http://www.co.henrico.va.us/police/coldcases/homicides.html http://www.websleuths.com/forums/showthread.php?p=817198 that's all I could find, but the second link has pictures of the two people. The girl was 2 years older than me at the time and we had similar length hair so we believe my brother saw her in my room. |
