I have decided to travel to Europe but I'm most interested in France and Italy. Most travel websites I've looked at offer Paris..that's it. I was
wondering what other cities you'd recommend seeing!! I want to travel to Paris but to see other areas of France as well. And in Italy I'd like to see
Florence and Rome for sure.

I've been to Prague. I don't need to go to France or Italy.

It depends on what you want to go do. If your there for all the touristy stuff then Rome and Venice is good for that. If you want to go somewhere beautiful and
relaxing then go to Capri

Nice is very touristic, if you go to the cote d'Azure, go to cannes as well, and get a chance to not only stay at the coast but go op to a couple villages
in the mountains, you'll get spectacular views.
I also recommend Lyon (in the centre of the country) and Toulouse (close to the pyrennes). And if you come to Strasbourg I will be your guide.

I've been to France and loved it!
I went to Paris, Reims, and Versailles and loved them all. One of my friends went to Strasbourg and loved it. I would also recommend checking out Belgium (Brussels, Bruges, Liege, and Namur were wonderful). It's a neat mix of Dutch, German, and French, and from Paris it's a pretty short train ride...definitely something you could do for a day trip. |

I've been fortunate to travel to both and I'm more partial to Italy particularly Rome. It's so rich in history and culture. The people were
delightful and the food was incredible. Paris is right up there too but I just love Rome...

Lille (in the North) is only an hour from Paris by train and it's really pretty.

In Italy you should go anywhere in Toscana, Verona, Rome and Sicily.
I've been to Cannes, Nice and Monaco, those places are nice but nothing special to me. |

Italy: Florence and Venice, even more than Rome. People usually tell me they loved Milan, but I must have missed something, because it didn't find it that great. France: besides Paris (and the area around, Versailles is beautiful), I guess the South would be good if you are looking for better weather and maybe some beach time, they're pleasant, but nothing special, imo. If you have time to go to Austria, I would recommend. |

Thanks everyone! I have a friend in Toulouse and another in Lille who is living in Lyon right now, so I think I will probably hit those spots! My french is not
great but since I've learned it in school from grade 3 to grade 10 I'm hoping I can pick some up if the people speak slow to me!
Getting very excited!! |

iLOVEjc02 wrote:this. Paris is overrated, imho. The south of France is much nicer and less globalville. when in Italy, you should visit the island of Capri (there's a ferry from Naples). It is simply stunning place... you can even skip Naples for Capri... |

I've been to Nice, Cannes, and Monaco (I know it's its own country but so easy to get to). I would like to travel through the Champagne province and
Normandy. I'm dying to travel to see this..
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mont-Saint-Michel The journey sounds amazing. I've only been to Florence and Siena in Italy. Florence is a must. Absolutely beautiful. |
