Sometimes when I bended down towards the dishwasher, she said my ass was getting fat and how wide I was getting. And when I call her out about what she says to me, she denies it. My dad is passive aggressive about it. He would tell me not to wear certain clothes because it makes me look big and bulky. My grandma called me 'big' and my aunt always tells people how much bigger I am than my sister and how wide I am behind my back. Then she goes and buys me chocolate and expects me to eat it. I get offended by all the comments, but my dad tells me I'm too sensitive.

I've never been close to medically overweight in my life. They will either comment on my eating or say "don't you want to get in shape?" And I'm like, I'm half your size. YOU can get in shape. Since I've had an eating disorder, they stopped commenting as much though. I remember when I gained a bit of weight (still under 100 lbs), & my mom told me I got a little fat. I know she didn't mean fat-fat, just that I was getting better. It's just like, way to talk to your dangerously thin daughter. Edited By: PosterGirl2006 03/27/2009 12:52 AM. Edited 2 times.

She doesn't do it in a mean way though My dad does too. He's like 'you gotta eat more, gotta be healthy.' My dad is also a marathon runner & fit. Me? Not so much.

I've never heard my parents utter one word about my weight. I think it sucks when parents say negative things, or even semi negative things about their kids weight. Way to give your kid a complex right from the start - you should teach your kids to be confident in the way they look. Unless of course the child is medically obese, then they should intervene/say something for health reasons.

I'm not fat by any means, but I'm not exactly skinny as stick either. I'd say I'm about average for my height and could lose a couple pounds but not an excessive amount like she always says I need to. She talks about my weight all the time that sometimes I eat extra unhealthy things in front of her just to spite her. Sometimes she'll ask me about my weight before I come home from school so that she can "prepare herself" in case I gained weight. It used to hurt my feelings, but I've heard it so many times for so long, it doesn't even phase me anymore, so I just shrug it off whenever she says anything. And typically, all of my relatives will comment on my weight. Well they actually comment on all of the girls in our family around my age and that is usually their topic of conversations when they get together. It's really sad.

But they'll just give me general compliments about my appearance that I'm assuming includes my current weight.

"are you taking diet pills?" You have lost a lot of weight.. and then when i was fat, in high school, my dad would always say things like.. "maybe you shouldnt be ordering a pizza..." and then i go and lose 50 pounds in a few months.. and hes like.. "IM REALLY WORRIED ABOUT YOU." ugh.. im always either unhealthy fat, or too skinny. its annoying. but now i just call my dad and brother fat when i see them eating large amounts of food.. or try and mention the fat content of the food they eat.. and i look good now, so i enjoy the irony.
