I would say McD's for overall taste and texture though sometimes they're overloaded with salt so it throws me off.

A local chain in NC -- Cook Out -- has my favorite fries
Five Guys is awesome but they aren't as widespread As far as national chains though, I'll agree with McDonalds |

Whataburger's are always good, so I pick them for consistency.
I love Wendy's when they're done right and McDonald's when they aren't smothered in salt (which is never). If I want curly fries, Arby's and JITB are good. If I'm really craving some fries (and ranch), I'll go to Chili's. They're fries are so good and they have the best ranch. |
