It's the Mirena. I haven't really had a period since I've had it, which is nice.
I'm supposed to go back to the doctor sometime in the near future to have the strings trimmed shorter. The doc left them long, because he said sometimes IUD's can settle "up" into the uterus after insertion. Mine didn't move much, I don't think.
So for anybody thinking about getting one, I'd say go for it. The pain during insertion sucks big time, but it's worth it...


Although,
mine slipped out after I had it put in. I didn't realize it until my follow-up and I heard my doctor say "uh oh." That's not a good thing
to hear when you have a 8 week old baby at home. Scared the crap out of me.
