It's not like she infected the puppy with pravo. Dang folks, cut her some slack. The woman lost her long time dog and just adopted another pup and now she
morn another death. People get attached to their pets.

shouldnt the shelter she got them from have given the pup a pavo vaccine?? at eight weeks they should be old enough to get the vaccine.... my cousin's dog
had a litter last year and all but one died of pavo... but then again they were in the middle of no where and the vets were crap but my cousin should have
taken the pups to nairobi but he was out of the country....

angelfromafrica wrote:Parvo. They need a distemper/parvo/adeniovirus/parainfluenza/corona combo shot every 3-4 weeks starting at 6-8 weeks old until they are at least 16 weeks old. It is likely that the shelter did not start the administering and she didn't know, or they did start it and she forgot to finish the other two shots (it's a set of three shots). Were these puppies with their mom when she got them? A mother's milk often causes immunity to the vaccine - which is why you vaccinate them after they're on solid foods for a while and the milk is out of their system completely.

It was 8 weeks old. Time enough for one vaccine, so it wouldn't have been enough to protect it completely yet. They have no immune system really as
puppies, which is why they die so easily.
And there's no real treatment for parvo. It's support treatment. Fluids for dehydration and anti vomiting and anti diarrhea drugs and let it run its course. |

I bought my puppy from a reputable kennel. He had parvo. He also had the first vaccine. He made it however. He almost died. The kennel was very good and paid
for all of his vet bills
and even gave us our money back that we paid for him. |
