It does have fat, but it's the good omega-3 fatty acids.

More so than a lot of other fish. It's super healthy, but if you eat too much of it (like anything else) you'll get fat.

See she's talking about how it's "bad" fatty.

Yes, it is higher in calories and fat.

It's not high in "bad" fats. It actually has the kind that can remove bad cholesterol from your body. It also has much more nutrients than most
other fish.

It is high in calories which in turn could cause weight gain if they eat a lot of it all the time and do not work calories off.

It isn't the fat content that causes weight gain, it is the calories!

FSCgrl83 wrote:That may be, but no one in their right mind could believe that most overweight people became that way by eating too much salmon. It is hardly the food that needs a bad reputation. It is nutrient dense, which is a good thing. It has far more positive things going for it than negative. |

I know people who gorge themselves on fruits and fruit juices and milk every day and then wonder why they are fat. All of those things should be used in moderation. Being aware of what you are eating is the best policy so you can adjust your diet and exercise even if it is a healthy food. |

There are far worse options than salmon, but it still needs to be pointed out that good food can be high in calories.

I didn't say anyone did say that. I just think fish, of all things, should not be getting a bad rap of any kind. Most people with a weight issue have that
from eating far worse things, IMO. The Japanese eat fish all the time, yet their country is in far better shape than most others.

I used to eat salmon 3-4 times a week when losing weight, so I don't think it's fattening.

Yes, salmon is high in "good" fat rather than "bad" fat, but fat is still fat. Eat too much of either kind, and you'll wind up
overweight. Olive oil, for example, is a "good" fat, but it still has lots of calories that will end up on your waist or ass if you eat too much of
it or don't work off what you do eat.

Anything is fattening if you eat too much of it. Eating a serving of salmon is going to be better than eating a serving of cheetos. Even if those cheetos have
less calories. It isn't always about calories. Put better foods in your body and you body will respond better. Salmon is filled with the good fats and
it's high in protein.
