I'm kind of nervous. Are they as bad as they seem?

Pap smear? They're not bad. Just a little pinch-like feeling and you're done.

its different for every one. its varies from slightly uncomfortable to horrible and painful depending on the girl. most of the people i know have no issues
what so over.

I'va had a pap smear once or twice. It didn't hurt, just was uncomfortable. What bothers me EVERY time is the goddamn speculum. THAT hurts, it feels
like they're shoving a football in there.

Mine wasn't bad, obviously not necessarily enjoyable, just awkward. The speculum wasn't bad either, it was a relatively small one. The brushing of the
cervix was really just a strange feeling and I was taken by surprise with the insertion of the speculum. Mostly I just talked to my doctor throughout and it
was fine, try that if they seem rather easygoing.

It's not bad at all. But calling it a smear test makes it sound worse for some reason.

The word ''smear'' makes me think of bagels and cream cheese.

it's not bad, I went for the first time last year and if you let them know that you don't know what to expect, they explain everything as you're doing it. |
