No I'm not a nurse but I do have a question. What is the yearly salary on average for a nurse in Long Island, New York who is just first starting. I want
to be a nurse because all of my friends, family and teachers say I have the best qualities because I'm very nice and have very high patience. I always
wanted to be something that involved working in the hospital my whole life and plan on volunteer nursing this summer after I graduate high school.

I've never heard of Ativan subq. I remember we had an order for Morphine subq and it could be done, so maybe it's just one of those rare orders.

No, IV means it goes intravenously, into a vein. A subq injection just goes into the space right underneath the skin.

I'm not a nurse, but I'm a pharmacist. I haven't heard of it given SubQ either. Info from the manufacturer only specifies IV or IM. The only thing
I was able to find on it was this power point from a google search. The doctor says it's advantageous in palliative care patients, but does not cite any
references.
Did you get to see the original order from the doctor? |
