This is the first time in my life that I haven't been in school or working, so its hard for me. I have a routine. I wake up around 8:30 a.m. and search for jobs/firms to send out my resume to. At 11:00 a.m, I watch The View and eat breakfast. Then I get dressed and mail out the resumes. I come back and look for more jobs online and go on websites like JJB. I'll take a break to watch Judge Mathis, then I get back on the computer. I usually stop around this time (5:30) b/c my parents comes home from work and I spend time w/them and eat dinner. It's really boring and monotanous. I'm thinking about getting just any old retail job just to have an income and something to do. But it sucks b/c I really want to get my career started. I go on sites like Facebook and read about my former classmates who have real attorney jobs and its depressing. They talk about their cases, offices, etc. and it makes me feel even more like a loser.

Now I'm going back to school again and it's taking up significant time so I probably won't start looking for jobs until July.

I quit my job in Sept 2007 and wasn't working until Nov, and that was waitressing. Being on a waitress salary was basically like being unemployed but at least it kept me busy. I drained my savings paying bills. I feel for you. I didn't get a job til that January, and then I quit that August and got my job that I have now. It WILL happen for you, you just have to get through this tough time right now.

Than I started waitressing and stopped in November cause I couldn't take it anymore. Right now I'm focusing on finding volunteer work and I might find have a full time job soon from my cousin's company. If not, I'm going back to school in the fall. Honestly, I'm enjoying all this free time I got for now.

I have had a few interviews, but nothing has come from it. if it weren't for a friend stepping in and giving me a loan, I'd be beyond fucked right now. it's awful, it's literally a day by day struggle to keep the bills under control and find bits and pieces of work to supplement until I can finally get hired somewhere (I will do anything, it's not like I'm picky, I live on my own and have a mortgage, I HAVE to have income), I try not to think more than a week out or I would literally lose my mind. I just keep telling myself that something has gotta give sooner or later.

When you're a work-a-holic and you have nothing to do, you literally live the day hoping to go to sleep again (so you don't have to find something to do). I think it would be interesting to see the real unemployment figure because I know so many people w/o a job that are not claiming unemployment (including me). Makes you wonder!

I was only gonna be off for a month to recover from my surgery but decided to not go back because they were changing the pay rate. I was working at a call center that had us starting at a flat rate but then they changed it to where we were getting paid per call we took. Which normally would be great but our call volume was so low, we would be lucky to make $6 an hour and it was too far to drive for that. So I didn't go back and enrolled in school instead to finish that up. We can afford for me to stay home and finish school which is great! I have one more year to go and will be off work till I finish school.
