I enjoyed it this year I actually watched the whole thing and I never do that. I liked Hugh and his opening, I liked the past winners presenting the acting
categories. I would have cut the musical performance with Beyonce though.
Heath's family accepting his award was really touching I got choked up watching that. I lost a child recently so I felt their pain. When Sean won he got up and didnt embrace his wife she kind of pulled his face to kiss him. im not sure I dont think he thanked her, idk but it seemed a little awkward to me. Did anyone catch that? Overall good show this year. Oh and making fun of joaquin pheonix is getting old already. |

and the skit with seth and james was funny. Also when james announced the winner and stumbled over the winners name and seth laughed that was cute.

I don't think he thanked her or their kids when he won the SAG either. I dont think it means anything. |

I loved that the Oscars sort of honored the comedies of 2008. I feel like the people who made the oscars this year really looked at all of the complaints that
people have had about it for years and really tried to make up for the things they've done poorly in the past. Like they actually listened to people's
criticisms from past awards shows and fixed the problems. I mean Oscar is famous for not awarding comedic roles or films, so I thought it was awesome that they
at least attempted to give some recognition to it. and they did it in a fun way. They were sort of able to make fun of themselves and have fun with it. This
was a very unpretentious Oscars.
and not just that but they are famous for cutting people off so they stopped that. It's been said that sometimes the other nominees seem to get looked over, they defnitely took care of that. It usually seems long and uninteresting when some of the more technical awards come up, they fixed that by explaining the part that those jobs play in the making of the film and making the viewer feel interested in categories they might not have been in the past. and I love that they paid tribute to a lot of the films that didn't get nominated this year. I loved the comedy montage, the love montage and the best film montage. they were all amazing. I can't say it enough. The people behind the oscars this year outdid themselves. BRAVO!! and the Joaquin Phoenix thing was awesome. I didn't hear when they announced them and then I was watching it and I actually thought it was Joaquin for like the first minute or so. haha Ben Stiller was awesome! |

Beyonce is annoying. I'd rather watch the cast of Camp Rock sing for 12 minutes than her.
Jennifer Aniston and LC are now friends apparently. Updos Jennifer, they're your friend. I don't care if Heath Ledger died or lived to be 107...he deserved that award. End scene. |

So did Jolie win any awards?
Oh that's right, she got no awards. No recognition. No accolades. |

i must saw i didn't really enjoy the oscars; i think after all these years, the smug, self-congratulatory tone of it all has got on my nerves. i found the
breathless acceptence speeches of winslet and cruz contrived an annoying. i don't enjoy musicals so the hugh jackman numbers were fast-forwarded (and can
beyonce just go away? just for a couple of months?)
imho, slumdob millionaire is overrated; i found it emotionally unengaging, but the child actors were good. i''ll never understand whyit won so many awards though. but what really spoiled my evening was mickey rourke being passed over for the oscar. his performance was fantastic and i found that i really cared about his character. winning would have meant more to him that sean penn. in fact, i think sean penn wanted him to win, which is why he paid tribute to mickey rourke in his acceptance speech. what a shame. i was voting to chose which of two men get an oscar, and they both did excellent work, but one has an oscar already, i'd give it to the man who didn't have one, beccause it could insprire that man to even greater performances. the academy often miss out on an opportunity; that's why heath ledger wins a posthumous award, instead of a best actor oscar for brokeback mountain when he was still alive to appreciate it. |

My friends Dad [Ben Burtt.. invented the light saber sound, did the sounds for Wall-E, IMDB him... lol] got f-ing jacked. I can NOT believe Slumdog won 8
awards including SOUND. ffs.
As a friend on fbook wrote on his thing over it: "I'll tell you what happened...people who have NO conception of sound design and editing, voting for something they do not understand. People voting for the popular Hollywood ethnic choice of the moment, instead of the true craft that is presented....complete Blarney...Ben Burtt should have taken that easily! I'd like to see someone take a movie, and solely base it on sound effects, and do what Ben did with that....I'm calling "bullshit" Hollywood here." I couldn't say it better. |

^ yeah that's one of the slumdog awards I thought was kind of stupid that they got. I mean Wall-E is all just sound work. Like there isn't any actual
language for a good part of the film, if I've heard right. I mean I thought that would've been obvious that it should've gone to Wall-E.

I am still laughing about the Seth Rogan/James Franco segment and James completely obliterating that German dudes name.
