the whole Locke replacing Jack's father bit really got to me. I still don't understand how these fools expect us to believe Terry O'Quinn is playing a 48 year old man on the island (in 2004 anyway) so he's not actually all that much older than Jack. but wow, that moment. him replacing Locke's shoes. the score. just that touch of teariness Jack had in his eyes. It's interesting to see how much this man made Jack hate him for all that time on the island and how he would've killed him, and now all he can feel is something akin to remorse. I like how Jack turns into being the only person to actually allow themselves to care that he died. That's what's great about Jack. He can be a real asshole at times but he has that true sense of compassion and wanting to help, wanting to be good. While I was watching it, I felt like even with all the animosity that built up between them, John knew that it could only be Jack that he give that note to. It's like he trusted Jack with that responsibility and was certain Jack would "do the right thing." Even after all John put him through.

John Locke is such an interesting character. I know 99% of you all hate him but I will always love him, foolhardiness and all. He's so complex, like Benry in a way. I always feel like he's been trying and fighting all his life, to find acceptance, to feel like he's meant for this world. To not feel like a failure and to not be who people told him he was while growing up. Seems like the man all but gave up on all that and then the island happens. People meet him there and he seems wise; they find it hard to believe at first that he doesn't have all the answers. But even after that he continues to have his doubts. Maybe this resurrection thing/saving the island attempt is what he's been waiting for all his life, the big thing he's meant to accomplish in his life to show that he did matter.

This thought has been going around in my head for quite some time, but what with Charlie saying "I died. but yet I'm here" and now that we know that they can go back in time (I wouldn't exactly quite call it time travel), there's something in the whole dead people being alive thing. I wonder if all this talk Christian has been having with various people somehow connects with when he was still alive. like times clashing - an alive Christian speaking with people from a different time, a time in which he is already dead. idk. I don't quite think that might be it either. It's hard to put into words. The dead folks are alive but they're not. They're not entirely spirits either, I don't think so. The island seems to be something like a vortex - where things don't make sense or follow logical rules and in any other place, would be impossible. I know the Jacob is Locke theory has been floating around since the beginning, but it seems even more possible now.

Next week looks so incredible. I'm looking forward to it.

dude I totally forgot about the Thomas references. I need to rewatch STAT but Ben is just saying Locke will no longer be "dead," not that he's Jesus per se, but that he will also resurrect. I think there's no way now Locke won't be alive again, in whatever shape & form it happens in.
