Not the saddest but I love it right now:
Lions & Tigers & Bears - Jazmine Sullivan I'm not scared of lions and tigers and bears But I'm scared of loving you I'm not scared to perform at a sold out affair But I'm scared of loving you Am I the only one who thinks it's an impossible task? Why it don't last? Is that too much to ask? Why do we love Love, when Love seems to hate us? Sorry if I sound so filled with gloom You say you care and I know you do But this is from my experience And my conclusion only makes sense Just cause I love u and u love me, It doesn't mean that we're meant to be, I can climb mountains, swim cross the seas, But the most frightening thing is you & me! |

"Tears In Heaven" by Eric Clapton. Hands down.
ETA lyrics: Would you know my name
I must be strong
Would you hold my hand
I'll find my way
Time can bring you down,
Beyond the door,
Would you know my name
And carry on, 'Cause I know I don't belong Here in heaven. Copied and pasted from www.eric-clapton.co.uk, because I'm too lazy to type them and it's too sad.
I LOVE Eric Clapton. I think he's amazing, but I haven't been able to listen to that song since my brother died. I was really glad that he didn't play it when I saw him in concert. I think my parents were too. Just reading the lyrics I posted made me tear up.

Live- Lightning Crashes
lightning crashes, a new mother cries her placenta falls to the floor the angel opens her eyes the confusion sets in before the doctor can even close the door lightning crashes, an old mother dies her intentions fall to the floor the angel closes her eyes the confusion that was hers belongs now, to the baby down the hall oh now feel it comin' back again like a rollin' thunder chasing the wind forces pullin' from the center of the earth again I can feel it. lightning crashes, a new mother cries this moment she's been waiting for the angel opens her eyes pale blue colored iris, presents the circle and puts the glory out to hide, hide

Hear the lonesome whiperwill
He sounds too blue to fly The midnight train is whining low Im so lonesome I could cry Ive never seen a night so long When time goes crawling by The moon just went behind a cloud To hide its face and cry Did you ever see a robin weep When leaves begin to die That means hes lost the will to live Im so lonesome I could cry The silence of a falling star Lights up a purple sky And as I wonder where you are Im so lonesome I could cry

I don't know about saddest ever, but Ben Folds' The Luckiest makes me cry a lot recently.
I don't get many things right the first time In fact, I am told that a lot Now I know all the wrong turns, the stumbles and falls Brought me here And where was I before the day That I first saw your lovely face? Now I see it everyday And I know That I am I am I am The luckiest What if I'd been born fifty years before you In a house on a street where you lived? Maybe I'd be outside as you passed on your bike Would I know? And in a white sea of eyes I see one pair that I recognize And I know That I am I am I am The luckiest I love you more than I have ever found a way to say to you Next door there's an old man who lived to his nineties And one day passed away in his sleep And his wife; she stayed for a couple of days And passed away I'm sorry, I know that's a strange way to tell you that I know we belong That I know That I am I am I am The luckiest |

Mayer, Comfortable
I just remembered that time at the market snuck up behind me and jumped on my shopping cart And rode down aisle five you looked behind you and smile back at me crashed into a rack full of magazines they asked us if we could leave. Can't remember what went wrong last September though i'm sure you'd remind me, if you had to Our love was, comfortable and so broken in I sleep with this new girl I'm still getting used to My friends all approve, say "she's gonna be good for you." They throw me high fives. She says the Bible is all that she reads. and prefers that I not use profanity Your mouth was so dirty Life of the party, And she swears that she's artsy, But you could distinguish Miles from Coltrane Our love was comfortable and so broken in. She's perfect So flawless, Or so they say. Hey and Say, Heyyyyy. She thinks I can't see the smile that she's fakin' Poses for pictures that aren't being taken. I loved you grey sweat pants No make up So perfect Our love was comfortable and so broken in. She's perfect So flawless I'm not impressed I want you back No, no, no, no I want you back. Want you back. Back. That you were my first love Is just dumb love. A technicality. You were ahead of me. That you were my first love. Is just dumb, dumb, stupid love. A technicality. You will always be ahead of me. Oh, oh, tell me. Why I have to practice on you. Why I have to practice on your heart. Oh. |

Run by Snow Patrol
I'll sing it one last time for you Then we really have to go You've been the only thing that's right In all I've done And I can barely look at you But every single time I do I know we'll make it anywhere Away from here Light up, light up As if you have a choice Even if you cannot hear my voice I'll be right beside you dear Louder, louder And we'll run for our lives I can hardly speak I understand Why you can't raise your voice to say To think I might not see those eyes Makes it so hard not to cry And as we say our long goodbye I nearly do Light up, light up As if you have a choice Even if you cannot hear my voice I'll be right beside you dear Louder, louder And we'll run for our lives I can hardly speak I understand Why you can't raise your voice to say Slower, slower We don't have time for that All I want is to find an easier way To get out of our little heads Have heart my dear We're bound to be afraid Even if it's just for a few days Making up for all this mess Light up, light up As if you have a choice Even if you cannot hear my voice I'll be right beside you dear |

Because I thought you guys needed to know the lyrics and hear the actual song.
"Crash And Burn" - Sheryl Crow I watched the sun come up on Portland I waved goodbye to all my friends I packed my car and headed to LA I gave away all my loose ends Somebody said you gotta get away To wanna go back home again I left my universe standing there Holding the hand of my best friend And it's laughter that I feel when I think of you It's one more dusty rose about to turn I'll see you when I reach New Mexico If I'm in the mood to crash and burn I wrote a letter that I never mailed I rehearsed the dialogue in my head In case you ever wanted to track me down I'll take my cell phone to bed And it's laughter that I hear when I close my eyes And it's one more punchline I forgot to learn I'll call you up when my bottle's dry I'm on my way to crash and burn Antigone laid across the road And let a Mack truck leave her there for dead Just because her lover split the scene Well love might be great, but why lose your head Well, it's laughter that comes out when I cry for you And my heart may break again before it learns And I might be stupid enough to want to fall again Cause I've gotten use to the crash and burn I say I've gotten use to the crash and burn Crash and burn Crash Crash Crash and burn And to listen to the actual song: http://www.deezer.com/tra...sh-and-burn-subway-T83349 |

Nothing I must do
Nowhere I should be No one in my life To answer to but me No more candlelight No more purple skies No one to be near As my heart slowly dies If I could hold you one more time like in the days when you where mine I'd look at you 'till I was blind So you would stay I'd say a prayer each time you'd smile Cradle the moments like a child I'd stop the world if only I Could hold you one more time (hmmmmmm) I've memorized your face I know your touch by heart Still lost in your embrace I'd dream of where you are [music break] (hmmm) If I could hold you one more time Like in the days when you were mine I'd look at you 'till I was blind So you would stay I'd say a prayer each time you'd smile Cradle the moments like a child I'd stop the world if only I Could hold you one more time One more time |

Hurt - Christina
I can't make you love me - Bonnie Raitt Dreaming with a Broken Heart made me sad the first time I heard it. been there, done that. I think lots and lots of country songs make me want to slit my wrists. I can only listen to them little by little because I get too sad! It's depressing!

This song makes me cry every single time:
Did I disappoint you or let you down? Should I be feeling guilty or let the judges frown? Because I saw the end before we'd begun Yes, I saw you were blinded and I knew I had won So I took what's mine by eternal right Took your soul out into the night It may be over but it won't stop there I am here for you if you would only care You touched my heart, touched my soul Changed my life and all my goals Love is blind and that I knew when My heart was blinded by you Kissed your lips and held your hand Shared your dreams and shared your bed I know you well, I know your smell I've been addicted to you Goodbye my lover Goodbye my friend You have been the one You have been the one for me I am a dreamer, but when I wake You can't break my spirit but it's my dreams you take And as we move on, remember me Remember us and all we used to be I've seen you cry, I've seen you smile I've watched you sleeping for a while I'd be the father of your child I'd spend a lifetime with you I know your fears and you know mine We've had our doubts but now we're fine And I love you, I swear that's true I cannot live without you And I still hold your hand in mine In mine when I'm asleep And I will bear my soul in time When I'm kneeling at your feet Goodbye my lover Goodbye my friend You have been the one You have been the one for me I'm so hollow baby, I'm so hollow I'm so, I'm so, I'm so hollow -Goodbye My Lover, James Blunt Also, Ordinary People by John Legend and Slow Dancing in a Burning Room by John Mayer get me teary when I'm in shitty-phase-in-the-relationship mode. |

The Greatest Man I Never Knew-Reba
The greatest words I never heard I guess I'll never hear The man I thought could never die Has been dead almost a year He was good at business But there was business left to do He never said he loved me Guess he thought I knew |
