doctors did studies that if and when men see their wives go through labor they are more likely to cheat on them.
When giving birth do you want your s/o in the delivery room?

I want my husband to be there, without a doubt! And I agree that the whole cheating after watching a woman give birth is just an excuse. If someone is going to
cheat, they will no matter what. It's just in their character.

I will be in the delivery room to make sure my wife doesn't try to take any painkillers.

Yeah and now that I'm thinking about it.. MOST men are in the delivery room watching their baby be born. The only guy I know that didn't watch it was
my uncle because with their first child, he passed out when her water broke and kept passing out every time he saw any spec of blood.
But anyway, most guys are in the delivery room.. so any married guy with kids who cheats, most likely watched their kid being born. It doesn't mean watching the baby being born turns them off of their wife. |

Darth, that's not fair. If your wife wants them, she should be able to take them. You're not going thru the pain.

Yeah but I wouldn't really want him watching my vagina. I'd want him there just holding my hand or something.

My husband had been an EMT in a former life. Me giving birth was not a problem and did nothing to our sex life. I know it does for some guys, but I think
that's a huge sign of immaturity.

Its rare for men to not be in the delivery room in America. Not in the rest of the world.
I don't believe the idea of men cheating after seeing their wives give birth is far-fetched, but I wonder how they got that info. I've never had a
kid and don't have any plans to, but I don't understand needing someone (other than the dad) there to "cheer you on." Its not a football
game. |

My in-laws would tell my husband that it's scary but, "Don't worry. It goes back. You don't think it EVER will, but it does."
But yeah, I wanted him in the room and he wanted to be in the room. My mom was also in the delivery room kind of against my wishes. I didn't want anybody but my husband there but she really wanted to be there. I made a deal with her that if she went into the hospital for the testing they wanted to do about her heart that I'd allow her in the room but she had to stay at my head. She went out for a cigarette and by the time she came back in I was set up to start pushing and she lingered at the bottom of the bed for a second before I yelled at her and then she was leaning over me and trying to watch anyway.
I ended up with a c-section anyway and my husband didn't watch that, stayed behind the curtain at my head. He's not into gory stuff. He even helped me take my first shower after having Noah when...stuff...was still falling out of me. |

That's a crazy study! But yes, I would want him there. I don't mind if he doesn't look down there, but hi will be there holding my hand and
stroking my forehead.

He was there. He's a nurse so he knows what goes on. He wasn't allowed to speak to me, though. I don't want anyone talking to me or touching me
when I'm in pain. I need to concentrate/focus.

I got myself sort of tranced out and my husband tried rubbing my back at one point and I immediately told him to stop. I did fine with people talking around me but not so much TO me. |

My dad has said that he doesn't get how a man can look at his wife the same way after watching her give birth!
But he wasn't allowed in the hospital period so it's not like he had a say to
