Do you honestly think this is a responsible way to spend tax-payers money right now?

Possibly. It means your tax dollars will fund family planning services anywhere, including clinics that provide abortion services. I'm not sure how the
money is being meted out, but if we're funding, say, birth control, then it could open up more money at a clinic for abortion services.
But your tax dollars are already going to abortion services. As far as I know, if a woman gets an abortion and she's on Medicaid, then her post-abortion care will be covered. |

Do you honestly think this is a responsible way to spend tax-payers money right now? Absolutely. The more family planning in the world, the better, as far as I'm concerned. |

Actually, the amount of your tax dollars going to anyone place is so minimal that you're barely contributing at all. Go donate a couple dollars to Church,
I'm sure it will equalize out.

Yeah in the US maybe. But why must we provide this for other countries? This is ridiculously wasteful when we are in such a huge deficit.

Bush had our tax dollars funding both sides of the war in Iraq and Afghanistan which caused our soldiers to get killed.

Yeah in the US maybe. But why must we provide this for other countries? This is ridiculously wasteful when we are in such a huge deficit. Because it's a bad idea to cut funding for condoms in AIDS-stricken countries? Because we don't actually only live in America, but we live in the world? Because we give a shit about other people besides Americans, who already live lives of luxury compared to most of the world? |

When the ban was in place, no U.S. government funding for family planning services could be given to clinics or groups that offer abortion services or
counseling in other countries even if the funds for those activities come from non-U.S. government sources.
This means it will help fight against AIDS and the growing population which are huge problems in the world. Well spent money I say. |

Hey, guys? I'm willing to do a trade-off with whoever doesn't agree with Obama's plan. You know how the reality is that our tax payments are split
up into a million different government funded things? Well, I'll trade you my....education tax dollars, or whatever, for all of your abortion tax dollars.
That way, you can free your guilty conscience by assuring your friends you have never given a dime to support abortion. And I'll tell my friends I'm
supporting abortion twice as much as them. It's win-win. No prob.

"Women's health has been severely impacted by the cutoff of assistance. President Obama's actions will help reduce the number of unintended pregnancies, abortions and women dying from high-risk pregnancies because they don't have access to family planning," said Tod Preston, a spokesman for Population Action International, an advocacy group. |

I'm an Obama supporter and not a pro-lifer but I don't support this. I don't see why our money should go toward those sorts of groups abroad.

it's not like he's funding straight up abortions, not that that should matter. He's funding groups who do a variety of services and abortion is
just one of those things they do or might do or have the capacity to do. He's just opening it up so he can support all family planning services where
people need the most help. So people need not be so closed minded about it.
