I do remember the controversy over the 2 Live Crew song (which only made it even more popular) and there was a lawsuit about obscenity, however it was ultimately dismissed. I don't recall anyone ever getting suspended over singing raunchy song lyrics.

In comparison, Britney's song is tame stuff. A child isn't going to be scarred because he or she heard a euphemism on the radio. And if a parent is that concerned, then the radio should be on something like classical or Disney.

The censorship is so stupid because kids already know the words or phrases that are being censored. Kids hear these words and euphemisms from the adults around them everyday, but curse in a song and the same cursing adults start clutching their pearls in horror. It's all so ridiculous.
