I am in need of some advice about a job |

In OCTOBER I sent in my resume at this place. In NOVEMBER I got a call back to set up an interview. Well the boss is so super busy she couldn't interview
me until the 22 of DECEMBER. She says she'll be on vacation until the end of the week since it was Christmas etc. They checked my reference and she gave a
glowing report etc. So I called that next week and basically she told me what a great connection we all had, she really liked me etc but she still wasn't
back from vacation. So I call last Thursday to be like, "Hi, I'm just following up.....". The boss is super busy etc and they still haven't
discussed anything yet and they would call me next week (this week). The problem I have is that I REALLY need this job and I REALLY want this job. It's
something I believe in and something I feel that I would be good at. But I have classes starting on the 20th. I am torn as to what I should do. Do I call and
explain my situation and ask them for an answer? Or what? I feel like I'm running out of time.

Fucking Eh! They must not need someone THAT badly if they haven't had anyone in that position for 3+ months!
I would call tomorrow after lunchtime. Midweek. |

I wouldn't call. I know how you feel but if you start pushing them, they may get annoyed. It sucks but I think you are going to just have to wait and keep
your fingers crossed.

I wouldn't call either. You have checked up on it and that is enough for them to know you are really interested. I think it would be a bit forward to call
again so soon. If you haven't heard by mid next week then I would call them again.

Are your classes going to interfer with the job?

The classes would. I thought if I interviewed with them over a month ago I thought I would have heard something by now. She kept telling me how much of a
connection they felt, if it were up to her that she would hire me.....and how busy the boss is etc.
I have class from like 10 to 1. Maybe I can cut one class and move it or even take it next semester during the summer? I just need to know so I can move my classes around. What the hell is taking them so long? |

I'd call and explain to them that classes are starting and they are from whenever to whenever and if that would be an issue or something that could be
worked out. I don't understand what's taking them this long to make a choice.

Why haven't you applied for any other jobs since then? Sounds to me like they are putting you off.

I have. But this job is SO super perfect for me, it's close and it deals with something I really believe in. The boss and the admin assistant are both
REALLY super nice. I go back and forth on whether I should call. I feel like I"m walking a thin line between eager and annoying.

Send an e-mail. If they don't respond, you have your answer.

Why are you running out of time? Because you had a connection and they made you empty promises, you didn't feel the need to continue looking or apply
elsewhere for 2 months?

I have applied elsewhere...I went to an interview and they went with someone else. I've applied at like 30 places in the past few months. I just really had
it in my head when I started looking for a job in the summer I would have been working by now. I wanted to have a job by time I started school.
