Maybe chilis vary by region, but around here, you can't have chili without kidney beans! And to answer your question, I personally wouldn't be a fan of
chillied black beans.

I'd rather have chili without beans but I prefer black or kidney. Now I want some chili.

absolutely, we usually use canned "chili" (spiced pinto) beans, light and dark kidney beans, black beans and northern or navy beans. We've even
added garbanzo beans from time to time.

Real chili doesn't have beans, that is why it is usually called chili with beans. That reminds me...

Yeah. Do you have any baked beans? You could throw those in.

Sure go ahead! I actually use all different kinds when I make mine. I at least put in three different types.

I hate almost all beans so if I'm eating chili with beans (I've only ever heard of kidney being used) I pick them out. Ruins the chili!

I could see using baked beans, if you just wash them, wash off the liquid they come in. I'd think baked beans would have a more similar taste to kidney
beans versus black beans to kidney beans.
And I'd just like to say, I HATE kidney beans in chili! I use Bush's Chili beans (in my award winning chili ) because the beans just add
something, plus the sauce they come in is perfect for adding more flavor.

I actually only like beans in chili. I know, weird. Well I also love my grandma's chicken soup with rice and white beans.
