Just make sure you get the protection plan, especially for the battery.

Well, I bought a protection plan for the battery for a year.
The battery needed to be replaced a month after the plan expired...
After that, I vowed never to get another HP again. But, I saw a very nice HP on sale at Fry's and decided to give them one more chance. If this problem occurs again, I'll keep my vow. This time, I bought the 3 year complete protection plan.

I love it! So far (knocks on wood) the only thing I had to buy was a new AC adapter.

HP customer service suck to high heaven. They had to fix my sister's comp twice for the same exact problem and the second time, it took them over two
months to get the comp back to her.

I LOVE my HP! I got it almost a year ago, and aside from the short battery life, it is awesome! My charger died and in inder 25 min of being on the phone, a
new one was overnighted(of course within the warranty still)...Have a dell too and take the hp over the dell any day...

If you get an HP watch out with the extended plan. My dad bought one for my laptop at the end of my first year for two years. Well at this past month I got an
email saying my plan was about to run out (it had only been a year since it was purchased). According to HP my dad bought a retroactive plan that covered the
year I had a one year warranty from date of purchase plus one year. Instead of two years from when the first warranty expired. Too bad the website and stuff
said nothing about that when it was purchased. So its been an ongoing fight to get it straightened out.

I can't really comment on the battery because I mostly use it plugged in. Anyway I would defiantly buy a HP again just because I was very happy with mine and there service. I keep thinking though if my HP dies trying a Mac but I just wonder how much trouble I'll have adjusting to a Mac. after using PC for ever. |

I liked HP, mostly because they always fixed what was fucked up.
The keyboard numerous times, the hard drive numerous time, the battery numerous times, the battery charger numerous times, replaced my laptop once and forgot to have me send back my old one so I still have both. |

Oh and I seriously don't think I've ever been on the phone with them for less than an hour. Once I was on the phone for two hours and sixteen minutes.
That always irritated me. That and I could never understand what the other person was saying for the life of me.

I've had mine for about a year and a half ... have had no problems really ... only recently with the CD/DVD drive I burn a lot of things and it has started
to not recognize the drive for some reason .. but restarting it has always corrected the problem.
