i like the word awkward ...
i think he just wasnt used to solo interviews and not having four other guys to laugh at your not-funny comments or make silly faces with you. and so we get... well.... this...awkwardness. |

He must have had very little facial hair back then. I think he looked gorgeous/beautiful.
The interviewer seemed far more awkward than him. I think it took her a while to realize how much he was kidding and then she warmed to him a little. |

I've never seen this interview before! Thanks for posting it.
"And then there's JC his not that cute but he had to be in my group i guess..." That came out of his mouth but he was really thinking about JC cuteness.
The interviewer went silent after that. |

Thanks for posting.
He looks so young and he does seem uncomfortable at the beginning, but a little less at the end. I can't believe that I was 9 when this was taped and loved Nsync (specifically him) and now I'm 18 and it's just weird. I'm not sure why, it just is. Cute though.

Yeah, he hasn't really changed with interviews.

Justin wasn't awkward at all, he was being funny and sarcastic as usual and like so many other interviewers, this one didn't realize it for far too long.

 People probably expect him to take himself very seriously but he doesn't at all, and so intense questions by interviewers just make him act silly
