How the hell do you make your dog go outside and go to the bathroom? There is a ton of snow on the ground and we are definitely not used to it (I'm in
southern california). My poor dog has never been in the snow. I have taken her out 3 times and she won't go. I'm afraid she will try to hold it until
tomorrow because she refuses to go to the bathroom inside...even if I put down pee pads. I feel so bad because I know she has to pee! Any suggestions??

Mine haven't feared it, but that's because they're used to it. Can you dig a small path for her?

Is it a small dog? Is any area of your yard shoveled?

Shovel out a chunk of the snow to give room for your dog to sniff around and relieve themselves. That's what we do when the snow is high (we're in
Canada). However, he just goes on his own if it's under 6 inches or so.

Aw lol. I'm no help, my dogs loved the snow when we lived up north. They used to lay and sleep in it.
Maybe get her little booties so her feet won't be wet and cold? |

We only had labs and they love the snow.

We just shovel a little section clear for them and they usually go after a while. And they have little booties

Let me put it this way....1) I have lived in ca my entire 29 years and it has never snowed. 2)I don't own a shovel. We have no way to clear the sidewalks
or streets. I live in an apartment so I have no use for a shovel.
I don't know what to do for her.

Is there any place outside that is covered by a roof or something where the ground won't have snow on it?

Oh and I have a small dog. The snow is up to her neck and its pretty funny to watch when she starts hopping around.

Like others have said, I'd clear a path for the dog and try to make sure you get as much grass in that area as possible.
I'm not much help either, my dogs always loved the snow (we're in Canada) and if we had let them, they would have played in the snow for hours. |

Fire hydrant! I just thought of this. Take her to one. Dogs love to pee on that crap.

Since you don't have a shovel, you could use a dustpan to move some snow.

I finally got her to pee! I'm going to try to use a dust pan and broom to clear an area.
My toes are getting too cold though. |
