I'm thinking about ordering a self-hypnosis CD to deal with my fear of needles. Opinions?
Does anyone believe that hypnosis works?

No. Placebo effect. If you think it will work, it might work. But only because your brain is telling you that it works.

Nope. If it worked, I wouldn't need all the therapy for my OCD.

Hmm. I don't know about professional hypnosis, but I doubt self-hypnosis would work. Please let me know if it does though, because I have a few fears that
need treating as well...

My fiance got a hypnosis c.d. that was supposed to help with weight loss. You were supposed to listen to it before bed. It didn't work for weight loss, but
it was so soothing that it always put me right to sleep.

I think self-hypnosis works very well. But you really have to be dedicated to it.
