coffee & snacks are free where i work, so i don't know. it'd be easy enough to go overboard on that kind of spending, though.

I spend around 20/week for lunch/snacks at work. Which wouldn't be bad, except it only covers 3 days. The other 2 I don't have time for lunch.

I buy lunch almost daily and I get coffee, etc at least 1 time per week. Average, it's probably about $40/week. My 'team' eats out a lot so
it's hard to avoid.

All of us at work were spending way too much at lunch, so we've started going to the grocery store together every Monday to pick out food for the week
(snacks, frozen meals, etc). So far, we've been saving quite a bit!
I was spending around $25-30 a week. Last week was probably $12! |

I keep it under $5/week. I buy breakfast or lunch maybe once a week from the work cafeteria. That stuff is such a waste. I pack oatmeal and a hard boiled egg
for breakfast and pack my lunch and snacks as well.

I spend about $20. I buy lunch once or twice a week (I keep in at Subway and pizza to be cheap) and I get Starbucks twice a week.

He spends about $50 and half the time he TAKES lunch to work. I am so fucking pissed because we have a shared account. I'm just happy that I don't put
all my money in our account. I am putting him on a tight budget come next week. $20/wk.

I suggest you have him cut down gradually. He may resent you otherwise. Or just lie and continue spending the $50/week.
I'm so glad I don't have a SO like you ... I'd laugh in my husband's face if he told me he was "putting me on a tight budget!" |

$50? Does he go out to nice/decent restaurants over lunch break a couple days a week? That could add up.

I have really had to put a lid on myself. Some days I only bring $2.20. Enough to get myself ONE cup of coffee. I lose my shit sometimes when I'm buying
lunch on the go. Like, this one week I ate at Panera everyday and my meal was $10 everyday.
It's excessive and on top of that, I'm too broke to be splurging on food like that. |

Do you live in NYC b/c it's soooo easy to spend $50/wk at lunch time. I don't really order that much since it's so fucking expensive. $12 for a
sandwich is the norm...
