Good riddance George! Can you take Izzie and Denny with you? Dumbest. Storyline. Ever.

I don't know if this has been posted, but looks like he's done. This was posted sometime this afternoon, after the denial from that ABC rep I guess.
Exclusive: T.R. Knight negotiating 'Grey's Anatomy' exit The revolving door at Grey's Anatomy has taken another shocking spin. Multiple sources confirm that T.R. Knight has asked to be released from his contract, a request that both ABC and Grey's show-runner Shonda Rhimes appear poised to grant. "They're working out the details now," whispers an ABC insider. (A network rep was unavailable for comment.) There's no word on when Knight would make his final appearance, but, contrary to a report on the gossip blog crazydaysandnights.com, he has not walked off the show. "He's still working," maintains my Grey's mole. Rumors of Knight's unhappiness at Grey's date back to the early days of Isaiahgate. Per an insider, the actor was disappointed that it took Rhimes so long to publicly condemn Washington's use of the F-word, even as his co-stars (Katherine Heigl, Patrick Dempsey, etc.) rallied to his defense. (The incident led Knight to come out as a gay man.) The boss lady eventually released a statement denouncing Washington's behavior, but word is, it was too little, too late. Nonetheless, my Grey's source insists Knight does not want out of his contract for that reason, adding, "He just feels it's time to move on." A spokesperson for Knight declined to comment for this story. Knight's probable exit comes at a time when his character, George, has been given little to do, save for express concern over Izzie's mental state. There's no word if he'll be given a big on-screen send-off or be banished to Seattle Grace's parking garage with fellow gay Dr. Hahn. (I smell a spin-off!) Got an exit scenario of your own you'd like to pitch? Shocked by Knight's decision? Given his lack of screen time this season, can you blame the guy for wanting to move on? Do you hope he takes his real-life BFF, Katherine Heigl, with him? Is Grey's cursed? Comment below! Oh, and I saved the biggest surprise for last: Knight was not -- I repeat not -- the subject of my "fired actor" blind item last week. |

HE wants out. I just read this on TWOP:
It's always amusing for me to see the spin that goes along with these types of things. 'Official' statements, attention diversion, finger pointing, etc... The truth has been the truth for a while now. I never heard one time that Brooke Smith had been terminated, but I have been hearing that T.R. wants out on a near daily basis. Funny how the story just now drops when it's been weeks in the making. T.R. Knight has made is abundantly clear that he was unhappy. Ausiello states that harsh feelings were left over from Isaiah-gate and that's probably true, but the catalyst that is causing him to dig his heels in now has an awful lot to do with the depiction of gays and lesbians on Grey's Anatomy. Yes, he did walk off the set the day he learned that Brooke was fired and the show would no longer be featuring a lesbian storyline as one of the prominent arcs. He was furious and caused a stink about it multiple times, which led to his screen time becoming nonexistent. He wants out. Bad behavior didn't do it. So he's taking it to the media, which is why there's so much speculation and blurbs on a ton of sites now. Brooke Smith did not do that. When she was fired, she went quietly until she was greenlit to give an interview. And Grey's chose who Brooke would speak with and she complied (Ausiello). T.R. Knight isn't going that route. He's being loud and proud about the fact that he wants out. That's why I was able to hear about it before the media did. I know that my reputation was basically crushed when I passed on the information I found at After Ellen. I deleted that information the moment that I discovered it did not originate with the woman who posted it. It was incorrect and I wish that I had not shared it here. A lot of misinformation was flying around and people were up in arms about Brooke being terminated. I'm guilty of grabbing that "spoiler" and running with it because it seemed like huge news. I wish I had never done that. And again, I apologize for sharing it. Back on topic, on the one hand, as a homosexual, I am incredibly proud of T.R. for standing up for something he feels passionate about. On the other hand, I know all too well how hard it is to get work in the business. T.R. Knight is a great actor, but he's not leading man material and work will be hard to find. |

Grey's Anatomy/Private Practice
T.R. Knight Asks to Leave Grey's Anatomy December 9, 2008 Seattle Grace is about to lose another doctor. Grey's Anatomy star T.R. Knight, who has played lovable intern George O'Malley since the show's debut, has asked producers to write him off the hit medical drama. While details of his exit have yet to be ironed out, a source close to the situation says that it seems likely Knight's request will be granted and he will be released from his contract. Recent reports that Knight has not been attending table-reads for upcoming episodes or that he had walked off the set and cleaned out his dressing room are inaccurate, a rep for Knight tells PEOPLE: "He has been there every day. He was at a table read yesterday. He hasn't said goodbye to anyone." The rep had no further comment on his possible exit. Of speculation that Knight was still upset about former cast member Isaiah Washington's alleged use of a homophobic slur about him - which prompted Knight to reveal he was gay, and which some felt series creator Shonda Rhimes took too long to rectify with Washington's dismissal - a source familiar with Grey's says it is false. "The Isaiah stuff has no relevance at all," says the source. "T.R. doesn't even know why people would mention it. It was so long ago." So why does Knight, who remains a fan favorite, want to leave? "Have you seen the show lately?" says the source. Knight has received little screen time this season, with the show focusing on controversial storylines like the romance between Katherine Heigl's Izzie and her long-dead lover, Denny. "It's time to move on," says the source. "It just feels like this is the right time to go." News of Knight's possible exit comes after Grey's made headlines last month when actress Brooke Smith, who played Dr. Erica Hahn, was abruptly let go from the show. ABC had no comment. |

Damn. I agree the show sucks this season, but I wish he'd give them a bit of time to turn things around. |

Maybe this will give the writers and Shonda a kick in the ass and get them to change things around.

T.R. will forever be typecast as the awkward, nerdy, adorkable, possibly gay bff, but I think he's good at it. I hope he finds work.

Good. Now all they need is to get rid of Lexie, Sadie, and the Chief and then I'll be good with this show again.

Is it me or does Hiegl look like she and pompeo do not get along? For some reason it looks like writers have been keeping them apart...hmmm

^ Heigl actually gets along with the rest of the cast. You'd never know it, with all the rumors.
I swear I've seen pictures of her hanging out with Ellen Pompeo. And she's pretty tight with TR and Justin Chambers. |

Good luck to him. Seems pretty idiotic to do it but at least the cast will be smaller. Can Burke come back now?
