I'm planning a trip for me, my boyfriend, and my daughter. My boyfriend said the Yacht Club is nice but he stayed there like twenty years ago when he was 8
so I'm disregarding his opinion. So, give me suggestions please! And it should be kid friendly, although I'm sure most of the hotels are kid friendly
since it's Disney World.

We stayed at the Boardwalk Inn & it was my favourite thing about our whole Disney World trip. Our son was 9 & his cousins were 6, 4 & a few months
shy of 2 when we all went for a Christmas trip so I'd say it was kid-friendly.

My boss and her family stay at the Pop Century Resort every year. She's the pickiest woman EVER, so I assume it's nice and fun for her kids.

My two favorite hotels that I stayed at were the Wilderness Lodge and the Beach Club. The Beach club is close to the Yacht Club and Boardwalk. I would pick any
of those to stay at.

Yeah you are right Disney has a lot of kid friendly hotels, I would say it depends on what you can afford, but you wouldn't be disappointed with the
hotels...

Animal Kingdom Lodge is gorgeous, and the animals are right in the backyard.
Wilderness Lodge is unbelievable. It's more laid-back. I would LOVE to stay there. Port Orleans - French Quarter is really great. There's a boat that goes from POFQ to Downtown Disney. |

We are staying at the Beach Club which I have heard is really nice. You really can't go wrong with any of the moderate resorts on up.
The Pop Century is one of the value resorts and it's pretty much like a Motel 8. |

My fave hotel is the Wilderness Lodge - it's gorgeous, laid back and you have the boat/bus for transportation.

I suggest the Wilderness Lodge or Animal Kingdom. I also really like the Polynesian, but it's also one of the oldest ones. It really doesn't matter how
old they are though...it's Disney and Disney is well known for their attention to detail. You really can't go wrong with any of them. Have fun!!!!

I love the Boardwalk. It's good for both kids and adults, at night there's games across the boardwalk and epcot and disney studios are within walking
distance. You can also take a boat back if you don't wanna walk.

The Grand Floridian is the nicest hotel on property and really the closer you are to the parks the more you pay... but the Value hotels are nice

The Animal Kingdom one is awesome; as was mentioned, the proximity to the animals is so cool and the lobby, is AMAZING. That one is my favorite.
I stayed at the Polynesian when I was little, I remember liking it. The Grand Floridian is really nice in an elegant way. |

I have to fess that I didn't pay for the trip to Disney World the one time we went. My inlaws paid for the kids, grandkids & themselves to go as a
Christmas gift for everyone. Their daughter is the associate president of alumni relations for a university, travels regularly to Disney World just because she
likes it but due to the combination of those two she was able to get a really good deal.

toastnojelly wrote:Yes. I think the prices are pretty ridiculous, especially for the deluxe hotels like the Grand Floridian, the Polynesian, etc. Yes they are very nice but I wouldn't be paying that much. We always stay at the Grand Floridian (and before that, the Polynesian 3 times and the Boardwalk once) but the reason we stay at the GF now everytime is because my dad attends a conference there and gets a decent discount. It's still expensive but I never pay so...yeah
There are moderately priced Disney hotels that are more reasonable.

I personally prefer being at a hotel on the monorail line but if I didn't care about that and had children, I'd so stay at the Animal Kingdom Lodge. We
ate at the Jiko restaurant there once (expensive but excellent btw) and I loved the hotel. We went out back afterward and were able to see all of the animals.
We were thinking about staying there once when it first opened up but we're big monorail fans/not big bus fans.

I have stayed at just about every Disney Resort. I work for the company. Every resort is nice but some are nicer then others. it also depends on what you like.
Whoever said Pop Century is like Motel 8 is very off. The Pop Century is the newest Disney Resort. The rooms are on the smaller side but it is no Motel 8. it
is a good place if you are traveling with kids and don't want to worry about always having to eat at a sit down restaurant. They have a food court. I
stayed at The Boardwalk a week ago. The place is beautiful and is very close to both Epcot and Hollywood Studios. There is really no where to eat though unless
you make reservations. The Yacht and Beach are right near The Boardwalk and they seem to have a few more food options. Honestly anywhere you stay will be nice.
The only change really comes in size and food options. The Boardwalk had a great pool that was always packed where the Pop Century has like 4 pools so you
never have to worry about them being packed. Wilderness Lodge is by far my favoritie though. You should also take into account the buses. Some of the nicer
resorts share buses will some of the moderate and value have their own. I would say the one place to stay away from is All Star. It is a value and it is older
and really needs a fix up.
