went to a screening today. I didn't really have much expectations for it. i thought the movie was decent overall. the performances are all very strong across the board. My friend who saw the movie earlier this month said Meryl Streep's performance is a little over the top, but i thought it she was fine. The movie is a little bit too slow at times and some scenes just dragged on and on. It's not really my type of movie, but nonetheless it's still a good movie. What i liked about the movie is that it makes you think about the very question of the movie- did he or did he not? One min you're convinced Philip's character is innocent and then the next you're having doubting about everything.
I'm sure they'll nominate Meryl because they nominate every single movie she's in I thought Amy Adams gave a really strong performance and also Viola Davis. all the actors brought something to the table even when the film is slow and boring. I am not sure about a Best Picture nom. I think for now the only sure Best Pic noms are Milk and Revolutionary Road. I really did not like Curious Case of bejamin button even though everyone is saying it'll get nominated for everything. I still stand by my opinion of that movie even if it wins Best Pic.
