So for the longest time I have vaguely remembered this JC daddy story, but it is not the Kyle series. Somehow it just came to me that the kid called JC
"Blue." Does this ring a bell to anyone? I hope so, because it was soooo good (from what I can remember anyway...).

Mel....I know the story you're talking about, I just can't remember the title to search for it. But yeah....the kid did call JC "Blue" cause
of his blue eyes and i know the little kid's name was Josh too. I'll try to see if it's still out there in cyberland somewhere.
