I don't need to "control birth". I'm sick of feeling like I'm going to die every month. (sorry if this is TMI?)
Does it make you gain weight? I've also heard it gives you acne too... or is that a myth?
Are there any other solutions? Midol and ibuprofen don't seem to work anymore.

It is known for clearing up acne.... not sure where you are getting your information.
The weight gain with the pills are typically 5 lbs at most, but it's up to you. |

The weight gain shit is a hoax. Chicks like to blame thier weight gain on everything but overeating. The pill has no proven effect of weight gain.

ibuprofen is my best friend during those days! sorry, it won't work for you though.
BC most likely gives you good skin not acne. and regarding weight gain, it depends, everyone reacts differently. |

I was FREAKED when going on BC because I didn't want to gain weight. My GYN was like, "Jenna, it's not proven and you're running 24-28 miles a
week. You're NOT going to gain weight. In fact, you will continue to lose weight fine."
I know since I started BC again (almost 2 months) I've lost 14 pounds. I'm about 8 pounds from my goal weight of losing weight for two years. So I think if you Eat and exercise properly...no weight gain. |

BackToReality wrote:Er... some girls experience an increase in appetite and that's where the weight gain comes from. It's usually no more than 5 lbs. Weight gain from the shot, however, can be upwards of 25 lbs. |

I don't recommend the shot, my best friend has had a horrible time with it. I've been on Yaz a week and I've noticed that my boobs are already
bigger, and I've had an increase in appetite. Most of the time, when weight gain is a side effect, its because you're eating more. You don't just
randomly gain weight, just watch what you eat a lil closer and you should be fine. I took Ortho 2 years ago and lost 20 lbs because it decreased my appetite.

I started the pill about two months ago for the same reason (major cramps) and I have gained a little weight-but it is my fault. Plus anything that will help
the craps is kind of worth it
