So: To what extent are the news media in your country covering our election today (hourly updates, full coverage, no coverage, etc.)? Is there a lot of discussion in your country about what's happening today and who might win? What's some of the commentary you've heard (thoughts on our candidates and Americans)? Please also mention which country you're in.

The US election are VERY important here. REALLY I haven't seen this before. All the press really say this is a HISTORICAL election! We are watching history ( and hopefully a victory for Obama) There has been a lot of press coverage for this election. not only the past days, but for months we've been getting updates with the latest informations on the news, in magazines and in the papers. Really!!! we have a lot of journalists in the US right now, who are following the campains of both contestants. They invite American politics experts to the news studio's. There's extra pages ( a lot!!!) in the papers with lots of info on both candidates, their programs, and lots and lots more. I feel it's really really important, not only for you Americans, but also for us, Europe, in fact, the world. Tonight (it's 21.30 pm here) 10-15 minutes of the news went to the US presidential elections. There are a lot of other programs who pay attention as well. Tonight (from 1AM) the national tv is airing on their digital channel the 'CBS' channel live! Tomorrow (from 6AM) morning the national tv already start airing results, interviews and lot more (very exceptional!!!) I will stay up a part at night and before I go to work, I will get up early to have my breakfast in front of the tv to watch the special news edition from national tv. The media are rooting more for Obama , I think in Europe a lot of people hope and believe that Obama wil bring a change, for the US, for the world.... The believe that America can be again a country to look up too, set an example for the American dream if Obama wins, more than with Mc cain. President Bush isn't very popular here, never really was. They are respectfull for Mc Cain, but there isn't much sympathy for Palin. She seems a bit .... I HOPE and BELIEVE OBAMA will WIN this elections!! yes he can!! ( i really will be devastated and disappointed when he doesn't) EDIT -- I'm a primary school teacher. ( they are 10 - 11 years old) I've talked about it today in class. The childrens really seem interested in it, they also know a lot about it, they hear talking about it in their family, on the news. They are rooting for Obama, they feel like 72 is too old to be one of the most importants persons in the world. They also feel a lot of sympathy for him. I just watch CNN though. Quite a few of my friends have pro-Obama statuses on Facebook. Overall, Canada is very much in favor of Barack winning and hope he is elected today.

There's not a whole lot of polarity with our parties (4 main ones) or with voters, so it's a lot more fun to follow the US election.
