Because it's not right now. I've tried googling and I'm really not understanding the tutorials I've found. I just need it in really simple

it's easy but not so easy...
step one...find your i.p. address. there are ways you can go into the computer to find, but i prefer to just google..."what is my ip address" and it'll take you to a site that tells you. copy the ip address. step two...open up a new window or tab and paste the ip address into the address bar and hit enter. that should bring up a pop up for your router...unless you've changed it the username is usually admin and the password is usually password (google your brand and model of router if those do not work) if that works you'll get into the settings for your router... step three...it really depends on the model and brand of your router (i have a linksys). but click on the wireless tab...then click basic wireless settings...then click enable wireless ssid...then go to the wireless security tab choose the type of security you want (i use wep) and choose a password (something only you or your family should know), save settings and you should be set. hope that helps. it's really easy. edit...don't mess with any other settings unless you know what you're doing. for the most part everything else shouldn't be touched.

Also, when you eventually find the settings in the router be sure to use WPA2, almost all other modes are pretty useless and basically offer no protection.
